Whats going on?

OK, Calm down, it'll be alright

When have you noticed the symptoms? What are his symptoms?Ifyou have just noticed them recently, he'll be fine. He just needs tosee a rabbit savvyvet.

If he has snuffles, snuffles can be successfully treated.

Just make sure he stays away from your other rabbits so that he doesn'taffect them. Wash your hands really well after handling him, and changeclothes after holding him if you are going to go see the other rabbits.

Everything will be alright, just calm down.

:hug2:

:yeahthat Get him to a rabbit-savvyvet in the morning. This can be treated. Along withwashing your hands and changing your clothes before handling your otherrabbits, clean all the cages with a mild bleach solution and rinse themwell. This should help prevent the others from gettinginfected too.

My naboor has had rabbits all his life he toldme that the only thing i can do is give him vitimen C....we have nosmall animal vets in the area.....we are in the middle of thecountri...i ordered the formula aid off of Rabbitstop.com its a medicinthat helps with colds......:?

If he has snuffles, or other bacterialinfection, he needs to be treated with an antibiotic. Even if you donthave a rabbit-savvy vet, any dog/cat vet can probably do a simpleculture and sensitivity test for you to determine what he has and howto best treat it. Also, there are rabbit vets that will do phoneconsults with other vets.

See if you can get ahold of someone in the morning to help you with this. I think you need to do more for him than vitamin c.

:yeahthat

It's not like a common cold that humans get, it's a bacterial infectionthat needs to be treated with antibiotics. Not something Vit. C willcure.

I hope you can get help for him soon.

Here's a list of rabbits vets in Ontario. There must be atleast one vetthat can take a look at this guy, even if you have to drive for a bit.:?

I've heard of buns that have snuffles and live for a very long time...if they get proper treatment.

You need to find a vet a soon as you can that will look at him and take a culture.
They need to identify exactly what it is in order to give the right meds.

"Snuffles" is a term used for a wide variety of issues. It might turn out not being as bad as bad as you think.
Can you describe what's going on for us so that we have a better understanding?

What Ringo has would fall under snuffles and heis a very active bunny. He has been sneezing since day one that we gothim. That is one year and 7mnths. He still going strong.

If he has head-tilt you should get him to a vet ASAP. The faster treatment is started the better.

The vet said the quik response when Ringo had head-tilt saved him.

"Head tilt" means it is a much more severeproblem. Rabbits with upper respiratory infections (colds) donot get head tilt. You need to get him to a vet ASAP!

Head tilt is NOT the same thing as snuffles and he needs to see a vet and get started on treatments ASAP.

This is an update of the topici posted a few days ago about my rele sick polish boy!

My parents arnt home so i cant get him to the vet.Im in themiddle of the contrie so its not like town is a 10 min walk..my naboorwho has like 50 rabbits gave me some pointers but said that he is tofar into his illness that he wont make it another day orso.:(:bawl::cry4:

Are there no country vets there? Who do the local farmers use - what about the neighbour with all the rabbits?

(p.s I merged this new thread with the old one for you, it helps tokeep it all in one place so that new readers know what you are talkingabout :D)

Well, probably if this neighbor doesnt ever takehis bunnies to the vet, I can see why he thinks it wont last more thana day or two. Rabbits, like all other animals, need vet care when theyare sick.

You need to convince your parents to get your bunny to thevet. Offer to work it off, do chores or babysit orsomething. Please dont just sit there and allow your bunny tosuffer.

This neighbor doesnt sound like he cares very well for his bunnies orknows about more current treatments for things like head tilt. If hestelling you to use vitamin c for a bunny with snuffles and a head tilt,I wouldnt trust him. Your bunny needs to be on medication for this. Alot of bunnies can live long and healthy lives with these illnesses iftreated properly.

Can you see ifany vetsare open saturday morning that your parents could take you to?
