It's been since yesterday and there's nearly nothing in his litterbox. What's there is a very few, very tiny little poops. *Sigh* I hope we're not starting this all over again! He had been doing so good, filling up his litterbox with mega amounts of huge poopies.

I noticed as of last night he was oddly calm as well. He took his medicine but never fought, kicked, wiggled or anything. This was the case when I went to put him back into his cage as well. Harper ALWAYS wriggles and jerks around when I am putting him down, he has since the day I got him. However, last time he started feeling bad (pre-surgery),he began to calm down as if he just wasn't feeling good enough to fight. That's when all this started and led to surgery. That was sort of the first sign before he quit pooping and then needed surgery.

He still seems to have a good appetite for the most part, which concerns me more becausehe's eating and drinking, yet nothing's moving or passing. He's been on mega doses of Laxatone (8cc's2x a day) since yesterday per the vet's orders, and his pooping has gotten less and less with the Laxatone. He's refusing his pineapple, as he always has. He hates pineapple. As mentioned though, he still has a good appetite for food, water, and hay. He's got a vet appointment in the morning for a check-up, so I will keep an eye on him till morning.

If it's not one thing it's the other!!

Geeze!

Thats weird if hes eating and drinking normally. It should be passing,I would think. Could it maybe be the antibiotics or pain meds thats throwing him off? Or maybe Gas..like would some simethicone help?

Poor Harper. I know how you feel though..like it will never get better.I'll be praying for the little one. Youre doing everything you can for him.

He's not on pain meds, and he's been on the antibiotics for nearly 2 weeks and was doing so good on them. I'm at a loss. I'm just scared to death that he'll need another surgery. I'm so worried and stressed because I am now in debt from his first surgery. I sold all my textbooks and maxed out my credit card, pushing it over the limit. Now they've turned my credit card into the credit bureau (was my first credit card, and now my credit is on its way to being ruined),and I ower nearly $300 in over the limit and late fee's. They call me and harass me every day at school, and I have no money left for anything! I have no textbooks and my finals are in less than 2 weeks, and I have an exam in the morning that I will now have to miss in order to take him to the vet. I also failed nearly all my last exams due to the fact that I had no books to study from because I sold them for his bills. Now all my grades are bordering D's and F's. And I'm worried of what the vet willsayand how much it's going to cost tomorrow. And don't get me wrong, I'll find the money no matter what, but I'm still so worried and beyond stressed.

Sorry for the rant and ramble, I just had to get it out.

What have you been giving besides Laxatone? Simethicone (baby gas meds) and extra fluids can be a great help and in any case won't hurt him. Also, have you ever talked to your vet about gut motility drugs?

Besides Laxatone, I was giving him Simethicone every now and then. I hadn't been giving him extra fluids because he was drinking massive amounts of water (and still drinking quite a bit as of tonight). He usually stresses so bad when I try to give him his Laxatone and Nutri-Cal, I didn't want to stress him any more by forcing fluids into him. I wasn't sure if it was necessary or not.

I hadn't talked to the vet about gut motility drugs, however thanks for the reminder, I will definitely talk to him about it in the morning.

Don't have any great advice, but I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and Harper.

I'm also a huge proponent of Critical Care for helping to get the poop moving (if he doesn't have another blockage). It's bailed me out of worrysome times on countless occasions.

Hugs to you and Harper.

How's Harper doing today?

The vet wanted to try the Laxatone until tomorrow, if no progress, then he's due back to see the vet tomorrow morning. So far no progress. In fact, he hasn't eaten much today, and he's sitting in his litterbox but nothing's coming out. The vet suspects another blockage due to the fact that his gut was so slow-moving due to the first surgery. I did give him some carrot tops, when he is nibbling on some. He usually devours them, but not today. And he hasn't pooped but a VERY tiny little bit since yesterday, almost an unnoticeable amount.

*Sigh*

Ohh gosh, poor little Harper...He has been through a lot lately!

I'm praying so hard for Harper to just get well again!

Sending lots of get well vibes

and many hugs to you :hug2:

Thinking of you both

Well, he ate some of his carrot tops, which is a good sign. However, now he's sitting in his litterbox tense and hunched over... you can definitely tell he doesn't feel well at all. I'm so worried and scared, I never thought he would be going through this. I always seen other people talk about their rabbits and blockages, but never imagined he'd have such a big problem with itone day.

:pray:I know just how you feel, hun.

(maybe harper and max are sabotaging our exams so we will stay home with them)

Get well soon little Harper

It's 6:50am right now *half awake and sleepy eyed* I'm leaving in just a few minutes to get Harper to the vet. I'm going to try to make it to my 2nd class today at 10:30 since I have a test. I'll post from classwith an update as soon as I get to school in a little while.

Keeping you in our thoughts.

You can also try a little Nutri Cal. It has vitamin E that helps to reduce intestinal inflammation and it is also easily absorbed and utilized. Good source of calories while he's not feeling well.

*waiting for Harper update, hoping it's good news*
