I've had my rabbit for 3 years. Great bunny, just one major problem... Her nighttime thumping. She thumps approx 2 - 40 times a night. I've put her cage in a large closet, with the light on; and music to keep her from hearing the small sounds. This still isn't working, thisspring it's gotten much worse. Last night I got up 3 times to reassure her. Any suggestions?

Have you ever thought that the music could actually be aggravating her? Does she have lots of things to occupy her in her cage, eg old cardboard toilet paper rolls, little dingly balls, wooden chews?

the light probably irritates her too. i think the general consensus is that rabbits dont like to be in the light 24/7. They like their dark time too just like we do when we sleep.

The without the light, she's much, much worse. I'm pretty sure she's afraid of the dark.

As for the music, I just started this and it's helping. It seems like the music drowns out the scary noises she hears at night.

Thanks for your thoughts anyway :).

Our Flower had a whole day of constant thumping, and I soon realized I'd turned off the fan that had been providing lots of white noise so she didn't hear quite so many little noises. We keep a fan on all the time now, and she no longer thumps when I type. LOL!!

Cute little bunnies!!

I normally keep a small fan in the room. It broke last year and I didn't replace it yet. Thanks for reminding what had worked in the past :).

Oh, cool...glad my little thought helped! :)
