Sleeping in Litterbox???

Why is myrabbit sleeping in her litterbox? At first I thought it was because she peed on the blanket we had down for her bed. So I took that out and replaced it with a comfy clean towel. She still layed down in her litterbox. Yuck! :?

Sleeping in the litterbox is very common with rabbits and nothing to be concerned about. I don't know why they do it though.

it is a comfort zone where they feel safe,/nest/..i use orchard grass as the fill so they can eat their fiber and do their business,.at my facility i clean each poop box with clorox bleach and a dap of laundry soap--rinse thoughly-and towel dry-works very well/disinfects,and deodorizes,,sincerely james waller

all of ours either lay in the litter box or on a piece of carpet. I change and clean daily, so it's no big deal.

My bunny will eat, sleep, groom, and sit in her litterbox.
But when she needs to do her business, she will pee and poop outside of her box.

Lady is the same - loves a good snooze in the poopy. I'm always amazed that she stays so clean.
