should I nueter him?

I have a male mini rex he's about 4 months old some of you know about him,but anyways I'm going to decide if I'll have him nuetered or not....



Now here's my problem I know many poele with rabbits and half of them say that if you have your rabbit fixed it's tempermant will change.Another said though male's are alot friendlier and bond better with you if there not nuetered...

In my experience with my 3 males, all have benefited greatly from the neuter. I think that age has a lot to do with it as well. I think that its better to still do it while he is young.

Basil was neutered when he was about 3 and I noticed the biggest attitude change in him (for the better). He was getting aggressive and territorial and this was completely elminated with the neuter. He is now very docile and sweet. Almost a little too lazy!

Max and Tumnus were both neutered at around 9 months. Both still have their spunky personality and no signs of aggression ever developed in either.

Hope this helps. Im no expert but in my experience neutering is best.

lol. thanks. I think he's pretty cute too. He's actually the one who wants to snuggle the least though..he can be pretty roudy:-( But he's still so young, so Im sure he'll warm up to me

Is this the one you're trying to bond with another rabbit? If so, then yes neutering is better. Rabbits who are spayed/neutered are *usually* easier to bond because they're less territorial. Pretty much if you want to bond him with another rabbit it's best to get him neutered.

there's the thing now my sisters rabbit hardly ever gets out of his cage.(beacause me sister wont take him out and I have to*theres a lock on the cage and guess who has the only key*anyways) when he does get out they play.



but I still wonder If I nueter him wont it change his tempermant?

If I can remember right, your sisters rabbit is an unneutered male also, right? And do you want to bond them?

While they may be getting along now, if they're both young, you never know what will happen when they mature. Their hormones may act up and this may cause them to be aggressive toward one another. If you do want to bond them, I think it would be best to consider neutering them both. I think thishelps ensurethey wont become aggressive to wards each other as they mature.

Afew people have said that their buns temperament has changed post surgery. I personally think there are more benefits to neutering than not. Its really up to you, but if I were you I would go ahead and do it if you plan to bond him with your sisters bun.

I've had three girls spayed and the biggest difference in their personality is that they are more relaxed. Not lazy because they are just as hyper, but they are less aggressive and frustrated.

My boy was already neutered when I got him, and he's an absolute lovebun. He's always up for a long, long petting session and he follows me around and nudges my ankle if he thinks that I haven't petted him enough lately.

If you're trying to bond two boy buns, you really need to get them neutered.

I think if he's not going to be around any other rabbit and he's not showing signs of aggression or frustration, you could hold off for now. However, I would just keep an eye on him and if he starts to act out you could have him neutered. Or if you do want to bond him, have it done as soon as possible.

I had my mini lop (Cheeseburger) neutered, we hadto neuter him because hes was trying to matewith me! he would follow me around everywhere, which was cute until he began spraying me,he was litter trained but would still have a few accidents outside of his cage, after we had him neutered he hasn't had any accidents and also stopped the spraying,I do miss him following me, his temperment hasn't changed, although he has began chewing more ( I think because he is bored), good luck!!
