 Mabel is driving us insane. She's thumping in her cage incessantly. So, I should let herout, right? She dosen't want out. She goes rightback up the ramp into her cage. If I shut theoffice door so she has to stay in the kitchen she sits at the door anddigs at it.

She does want to go outside, but we've been having so manythunderstorms it's a soggy mess out there right now so it's not anoption. She's thumping the most at night anyway when shecan't be out there.

What the heck is her flippin' deal? She has food, water, azillion paper towel rolls, apple branches. A huge cage w/ ashelf, etc. I thought they thumped b/c they wereunhappy.

It's soooo maddening to be trying to rock our ds to sleep and shesuddenly does this huge thump that gets him asking "whazzat?bunny? I wanna see bunny".

How do we get her to STOP! For the love of Pete I just wantit to stop. It makes all of us jump out of our skins when shesits on her shelf and THUMPS.:X

LOL! Awwww! That is sooooooooooo cute.

Anyways, has anything changed in the house recently? newpets? new people? new furniture? have umoved stuff around? could she be in any possible pain fromsomething that doesnt seem too obvious on the outside?

Fred thumps when he wants attention. Iknow when Hunter the puppy sneaks upstairs to visit the bunnies, because he likes Zorro's cage better, and then Fred will thump to tryand get Hunters attention.

Fred thumps if I pay too much attention to Zorro.
Fred thumps if I get out of bed and don't immediatly pay attention to him.
Fred thumps if I'm in the room doing ANYTHING other than paying attention to him.

I don't have a terrible lot to offer about this...but I'll ask a few questions, and hopefully they will bring something to mind.

- Maisie only thumps if her litterbox is too full for her taste (sometimes I lose track of the days...lol)

- What kind of floors do you have? I did a post recentlyabout my Maisie not wanting to come out of her cage, and figured outthat she doesn't like the wood floors we have at our place. We moved here about two months ago, and the last place had carpetingwhere she would do most of her running around. She seems toprefer that, so we're going to buy her a rug that fits the area we setup for them to run around in.

Otherwise, it sounds like she may want some lovin', or isbored. Maybe try putting a rug on the floor where she mightcome out to play. It might be the kitchen floor that'sbothering her, as far as coming out? :)

Let us know how things go, ok? :)

And hopefully soon you'll have a bunny doin' the Happy Bunny Danceinstead of the Thumpin' Linedance! Lol...:):bunnydance:

Harper used to slam his feet down constantly, during the day and at night (boy wasn't THAT nerve shattering). I begantaking him out more, and giving him new toys to peak his interest, inaddition to swapping around his old ones to give him some variety. Thisseemed to have stopped the thumping, as I hadn't heard him do it inquite a long time. I think a lot of Harper's problem was that he wasbored, and that could possibly be the problem with your bunny too.

Okay it could have been her litterbox.I changed it out and she got quieter. It really wasn't dirtythough. It had been less than 24 hours and I scooped it thismorning. :? Weird rabbit. I guess she wants ittotally changed every day.

She's outside now- it warmed up and dried out. So, she'sdelighted. I'm going to get her some different apple branches(easy since we own an orchard) and maybe rustle up some baby keys orsomething. Yeesh! Who knew that keeping the peacewould mean serving the bunny.

We have all wood floors so it probably is sort of slick forher. I'll put a rug down or let her play in the basement ifshe won't pee on it. She likes to pee on anything that thedogs lay on...so we have to put up dog beds to let her out.I'm not sure how a rug will figure in.

To the person that suggested it might be b/c of a change in enviroment-the only thing that has changed was a kitchen chair that got left inthe office (where she is). I took it out today.Anything to keep her quiet! lol!

Hopefully she'll be happy now. :bunnydance:

LOL...yep, things are wonderful when we servethe bunnies. I know how you feel...I live in a one bedroomapartment (with our daughter residing in the bedroom, so we sleep inthe livingroom), and we have a bale of hay propped up between thekitchen counter and our bed because it won't fit anywhereelse!!

We're such suckers for our animals...LOL!! :bunnydance:
