Well, I perform in them, and we call them Ren Faire's.. or simply "faire".. the people who attend them, whom we call "Playtrons" call them Ren Fest or Renaissance Festival.

This year I will be the French King's mistress..Diane De Portiers.. sans body jewelry with ink covered up..

Oh, ok. Ren Fest is how it's advertised here, so that's how I always knew it.

I think alot of that has to do with the hard core rennies.. that travel from faire to faire think of themselves as *seasoned theatrical performers trained in ye Olde English* and think that "faire" sounds so much more prestigious.. and then saying Faire rubs off on the rest of us seasonal performers..

Before I started performing.. it was just TRF for me.. as in Texas Renaissance Festival..
