I was out earlier today to come back and find mydog had been barking at my rabbit hutch, to what extent i dont know. But she has been very frightened, i have her inside just now, inside abox, quiet location. I am keeping an eye on her.

I`m not sure what to do! I cant go to a vet, it is 8pm here in scotland!

please please someone help or recommend what i can do, she is curled up in a ball!

Is she eating and drinking and going to the bathroom?

Keep her quiet and safe for now. Make sure shes eating and drinking. She may just be in shock.

Is there any treats you have? Maybe se if you can tempt her to eat.

She is lying flat out in the box, breathingfairly heavily. she was standing on her two back feet earlier, was agood sign i think. I will try her with water!

good news , she is drinking well! but she doesntseem to want food. She was being her normal self when i attempted toput her back in the box, kicking at my hands. I only hope this is goodnews.

I hope she comes through, ive lost 3 rabbits already this year. Which is why, when i bought her, i called her Lucky.

Have you got any rescue remedy? If so I wouldput a little bit in her water to help her calm down. If not just tryand keep her quiet with some food and water. If she stopseating/drinking take her to the vets. One of my rabbits Millie goesinto statis when she gets stressed.:?

She has been doing the toilet ok so far. If her condition remains the same in morning then i will take her to a vet.

What can the vet do for her though?

A vet can check for any physical problems (shemight have injured herself trying to run away from the dog), andprescribe gut stimulants if needed to keep her intestinesmoving.

I agree that you definately need to get her eating. Have youtried giving her favorite treats? Or holding her food for her?

I'm sorry you lost so many rabbits recently. If you don't mind my asking, what happened to them?

the very first rabbit i ever had died inseptember, Im not sure what happened to her, she was in with two otherbunnies and was acting normal that day, when i went out to check on herat night, she wouldnt move, as if she couldnt, she would just fall toone side when i let her go. She died later that night.

The second rabbit (a pair of twins actually). one died of similarcauses, despite having all upto date jags. The third one was actually aterrible accident. My girlfriends sister was holding her and she jumpedfrom her arms, and broke her back, she had to be put down.

and now i am here, on the verge of losing another rabbit. which i dont want too happen.

just a quick update! Some even more good news! Got her to eat a piece of cabbage, she seemed to like it!

then she took some water!!!

she back in the box for now though!

Im glad shes eating, but I wouldnt give hercabbage. It can cause gas in rabbits. Offer her something like romainelettuce or parsely or basil. Stay way from cabbage though!

I had a situation like this when 2 male bunnieshad a fight last year. One of them went into shock. Everyone on thissite said he would go into stasis and he did. It took about 2 weeks forhim to get back to normal (with meds, syringe feeding and a lot ofattention)

well she seems fine now, still acting a bitstrange, still in a wee bit of shock i think, drinking and not touchingthe cabbage, i wont give her that now.

She is pooing everywhere right enough! She is even finding the time to jump out of the box i put her in!

Glad to hear shes doing better. She was probablyjust very much in shock. I would just keep an eye on her, as othershave mentioned, to be sure she doesnt go into stasis.

Its good shes pooping, just be sure she keeps eating her hay and pellets. You want to keep the gut moving.

Keep us posted

excellent thanks everyone for advice, will let you know how she is in next few days. for now i will keep her inside.
