I tried to do my usual routine of convincing Pipp to eat her hard and chewy greens, seeds and other things to try and treat the spurs (which took hold after just one lousy day of not giving her a full plate ofsalad with just the right stuff to begin with), but even with Metacam, she'd still only eat the good stuff (kale, fruit, carrots, oats and pellets).

Over the weekend she stopped eating the kale (she'd only eat the soft outer leaf, anyway), and then the carrot --when I stopped the Meticam, she didn't eat anything but pellets.

Yesterday she stopped eating pellets and even apple, so I conceded defeat and hauled her off to the vet this morning. Just waiting to hear from them now so I can pick her up (and pay them $100). :grumpy:

She'll probably be her usual diva self and go another 24 hours without eating 'cause she'll be dozy and her widdle mouthy is sore from being cranked open, and the store is out of pumpkin , so wish us luck!

Awwww, poor Pip! She sounds like such a trooper though!!!! ( and so do you!)

I wish you the best of luck! Give little Pip a get well smooch from my bunMerlin....(shhhh! he thinks shes cute!!!!):sickbunny:

C'mon Pipp! Eat and be a good bunny for your momma now that you're all fixed up! Hope your sweet diva is better soon. I loved that you spelled out that dirty 3-letter word....:biggrin2:

Aww poor Pipp. I'll say a prayer she does ok coming home from surgery and starts eating again soon. Maybe try some pellet slurry with a baby food mixed in?

Had to race out the door right after I posted, forgot I had an appointment with my eye doctor! He put drops in my eyes so I can't see very well. :privateeyes

And I couldn'tsleep last night, never do when I have to take Pipp in between it being REALLY early and REALLY REALLY nerve-wracking.:nerves1 I thought that would work out well, I'd just sit in front of the computer and prepare for the move. But no, the forum was down. :grumpy:

Anywhoo, Pipp is home but she hasn't moved an inch, she's totally zonked out.

She needed a trim top and bottom, more than usual, but as usual, none of the spurs were big enough to be touching her cheek or anything.

There were a couple of issues, inclduing a bill $50 higher than usual. They tried to figure out why, but ended up just muttering something about the prices had gone up. I said, 'not good enough, that kind of a jump at least should require notification to the regulars.' They gave it to me at the old price. (I still don't see how a 50% hike can be correct orjustified, so I will be bringing it up again next time).

And the receptionist almost caused serious harm or worse tosomebody's little black bunny while I was there -- telling them to administer10 times the proper dose of Metacom :scared:.I caught the mistake and convinced them (with much effort) to double check the dose. <whew>

I'll make another thread on that one.

Pipp still hasn't so much as twitched, I'd better go check her out. (I'm sure she's fine, but she'll need to be kept warm and hydrated).

More later, thanks for your concern!

Poor Pipp... poor Sas... I hope both of you are better by morning. (Sas, get some sleep! Pipp, start eating your vege's!)

(And it's a good thing you were paying attention at the Vets! For the sake of the little bun!)

Awwwwwwwwwwww I missed it all but I am glad she's home! Poor widdle baby girl! I hate when they are so out of it, but Bo was so snuggly I took advantage when he was neutered..... I held him and kept him warm and he slept.... :)

Give little Pipp a kiss for me when you can!

Aw, poor little thing. And, poor Sas. I hope she perks up soon...AND EATS TOO:p. Did you hear that Pipp bunny?;)

I'd be demanding to know about the price hike as well.

Good thing you were there when the black bunny was, sheesh. Makes you wonder how often they make mistakes like that:shock:.

Sas, sorry I somehow missed this thread, though I knew Pipp was again having dental problems. I wish Pipp a speedy recovery and pray she starts eating immediately.

Aw, poor Pipp. I hope she's feeling better soon! Molar spurs must be downright miserable. Oh and I hope there was just some mix up with the payment and they haven't REALLY changed the prices that much... As for the medications, that's why I always ask on the forum before giving my bunnies any meds! I want to make sure it's safe for them and the proper dosage. Thank goodness you were there.

Sas, how are you - And Pipp?

I hope everything turns out alright in the end!

I'm late checking in as well, but am glad to hear that little Pipp is recovering nicely. Sounds like she has a with it and together mommie watching over her. Great job catching a mistake at the vets office like that.

Pipp isn't doing as well as I hoped, but I'm not panicking, from experience I'm sure she'll snap back eventually.

The last time she ate anything really was early in the morning before going in for surgery, and even then it wasn't much, but I didn't force feed her anything more than a bit of juice and water and a tiny bit of Critical Care and baby food mix to take with her Metacam. (And I'm not sure I even gave her enough for that).

She's still willing to eat oats (the only time she wasn't was after she got home and was too zonked out to even realize what they were I'm sure), but no other food, no water (and no poops). :sigh:

She's gone off to her 'I just want to crawl in a hole and die' spot(she's so dramatic), but ofcourse she's stillsticking her nose out foroats, so I'm not calling the undertaker quite yet.

I'm sure she'll be fine, but I do have to haul out the Critical Care, try and find a better syringe (the last one did the old 'nothing coming out until the one huge and sudden splurt that coated my arm, the chair and the wall -- everything butPipp's mouth, which is probably a good thing, she would have drowned in the stuff :grumpy:) and spend a ton of time I don't have catching and feeding. Or at least attempting to.

Thanks for all the good wishes.
