phantom pregnancy?

Hi, I would be grateful if anyone could help meout. My female bunny was mated on the 2nd of April and today(18th April) we discovered that she has pulled out her fur and made anest. I have read that this is a possible sign of a falsepregnancy due to the numer of days inbetween. Iwould appreiciate any advice on this

i have absolutely no idea but it could be a fake wich are common in bunnies

it might be hard to say coz she is 16 days in, iread that before 17 days is a phantom pregnancy so its very close buti'd say its very likely to be a false pregnancy as mine dont pull until28/29 days!

You can find out if your doe is pregnant by doing something known as palpation:

She's most likely having a false pregnancy, they normally never pullfur that soon, who knows, she may just be getting the urge earlier thannormal. Provide her with a nest box on the 28th day of pregnancy justto be sure.

At that 17 day mark it more likelyfalse pregnancy. Sorry My doe did the same thingfor two matings but the third time was a charm! She has 3babies now. There is hope!

I don't know if it is a false pregnancy, but Ihad a thread a while ago about Basil's pulling fur. I knew itwas a false pregnancy. I don't know if the link will help youor not, but I'll post it anyway.

Thanks for the replies and the link, both weremost useful. Poor Elle, I hope she will be ok and not stresstoo much. Does anyone know if I should remove the nest, orsould I just leave it be for the time being?

i would say leave it be for a while - you neverknow - she might be pregnant and so you wouldnt want to disturb hernest, Also, if you move it, she might just remake it and get annoyedwith yoy for disturbing it,

I removed mine a few days after the 31st day whenit was pretty apparent she was not pregnant. It stayed inabout a week. She showed little interest in it afterinitially making the nest.

Just thought I would add an update. Nobabies appeared and the nest has now been removed. I thoughtmaybe she might start pulling fur again but she never.Shedoesn't seem to have got stressed too much either and seems to be backto her usual self (is it normal for a rabbit to pick fights with arotty?!!) (and yes, the rabbit wins every time)
