My bun (1 yr old male, lionhead, netherland dwarf cross) has dried pee pee matting the fur on his back two legs together and the lower part of his stomach between his legs, is there anything i can do, or do i have to just leave him like that?

AS advised above a butt bath is fine. Don't bath or even shampoo the rabbit. It tends to stress them out. I also would not recommend blow drying as rabbit skin is delicate.

I bathed him today...

I used shampoo and luke warm water, he LOVED it!!!

Which shocked the hell out of me i can tell you!

He sat there all patiently and let me bathe him (a friend helped me too) and he just chilled, when we held him up so i could do his underside and he was in heaven just lying there. Then we rinsed him and dryed him with warm fluffy towels and a hairdryer.

He was a COMPLETE fluff ball lol!

P.S. no more urine on him now!

Hi,

I would be cautious in bathing a rabbit. Some shampoos...even baby versions...are quite harsh for buns. There are some available that are oatmeal based and are easy on the skin but do the job.

But I think the point might be why is there urine on him? What type of bedding do you have him on? Any time I hear of this I am thinking possibly a urinary tract issue...maybe an infection or a sludge/stone. Urinary incontinence and resulting soaking can also be an early sign of a protozoan infection known as E Cuniculi.

If you can't identify a husbandry issue causing the wetness...I think a visit to the vet would be in order.

Wowzer...

Thanks Randy.

I have him bedded on wood shavings and some bedding hay in his house thing.

I'll get him to the Vet asap though.

Thanks!!!
