nipping rabbit

Hi Guys

I have had my rabbits for a few months now but today when i was petting him he came up to me, stood on my legh ang niped me quite hard.

It didnt break the skin or anything but it is something i want to discourage.

I had been playing with a cat before, do you think it could be that?

Is he used to the cat smell?

Also, how old is he?

Did you smell different in any other way? Or maybe broken his routine in any way?

he is about 4 months old.
The cats live in the same house but i do not normally stroke the cats and then the rabbits without washing hands

I think this may be a combination of things. His hormones will be coming into play which will make him more needing to defend his territory. You smelt like cat and he probably acted instantly without thinking and just reacted to the smell of the cat and tried to drive the cat out of his territory.

I would be more careful with the cat issue, and also the territory issue and start to think about getting him neutered which should help.
