My bun had 4 babies on tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are so cute.
I have a question though, I still have one of her babies, I am keepingit, It is 34 days old now, but because of her new litter, she is beingvery hostile to her older kit.,chasing her down and biting her(the babyscreams) .To keep her from killing it, I have to house it sepertely, will the baby be ok on it's own? She is only a month old, but she doeseat pellets and hay, and drinks out of the bowl alright, and I have aolder baby bunny(maybe 2 months) that she is staying with, and they getalong well. I am just nervous about her not being with her mom. Is 1month too young to be separated?

1 month iskinda youngto be seperated, they are usually seperated around the 6th through the8th week, though she may survive because they are sold at petstoreswhen they are 4 weeks old. How did the doe get pregnant again? Did youremate her a few days after she gave birth? How many babies did shehave from the last litter?

:)

The baby willdo fine separated from the mother since it is eating and adjusting well.

Bunnies can be successfully weaned at a young age, however the stressof being put on the market for sale, different environment, andchange of food can be fatal. This is why manystates prohibit selling bunnies before 8 weeks of age.

Im sorryAmy but you got megiggling on the How did theDoe get pregnant again , ( giggling )never mind lol .

As Pam said at 4weeks and eating on its own it will befine just keep it away from the new mommy , and I would alsosuggesst getting the male into a seperateaccomadations lol unless thatis you want another round ofbabies in 31 days .

Have you got homes for theolder baby as soon asit gets to 8 weeks orare you keeping him / her . Iwould also suggest getting theDoe spayed and the maleneutered it will save bringingmore babies into the world .

Haha ya I know after I sent it I was like"OMG that sounds like I need the "talk" from my parents"! What I reallymeant by saying that was "Is the buck in her cage? is that how she gotpregnant again" :D Just not good with words sometimes :)
