Benjamin used to hump his stuffed warthog "Clyde" all the time before he was neutered, which was gross. Now he snuggles nicely all day with his lady-love, Frida.

I think I remember her at the HRS Convention held in New Rochelle, NY every year.

Geez, I guess I may have to cave and go to my vet at $450. I even asked if there's a discount having multiple bunnies go to him and she laughed and said NOOOO.
Dayna, you know that for $450 you could fly down here and use our low cost program plus get to visit with me and the buns!

HAHA I had a feeling you'd say that. My sister is going to Fla. to see her daughter and asked me to go and I can't with work, so that wouldn't go over very well. But thanks for the sweet offer.

Dayna, I think you told me the name of your vet before because I was seeing if I had any cheaper vet options. Dr. Campbell's regular vet visits are 80 or 85 bucks. Didn't you say your vet is much more reasonable? I am surprised that there are vets charging more than mine for a neuter. Honestly, I thought I was giving up and arm and a leg each visit!

I have not had issues with the practice at all and she comes HRS recommended so I stuck with her (pet insurance also helps a bit with money). I am glad she is active with NY HRS.:)

Symphony Vet - Rebecca Campbell.

I use to go there too - but Zeus died there and I never went back after that. :tears2:

When I was still living in MA I called around for spay/neuter costs, the cheapest I was quoted was $65 (at the time, it's gone up now) at a low cost clinic and the most expensive was $500 at Tufts.

Yes Dr. Stanzione's vet visit is $65.00 but he went way up on the neuter/spay, WOW.

Otherwise I think his prices are not too bad.

Have you heard of Dr. Pisciotta in Rye, NY, he's $50.00 cheaper with the neuter then Stanzione but was thinking of going to him so I can use both of them if I have to. They both have crazy hours so if one is off the other is there. I'm just so confused with these neuter prices.

I just got my two guys neutered a little over two weeks ago.
In total it cost me 508.00 dollars for the two of them.

Here is the breakdown of everything:
Castration- 200.00
Pre-anes. chemistry profile -38.00
3 day supply of pain meds -16.00
Presurgical examination, Nail trim and ear cleaning- complimentary
2 week post surgical examination 0.00

254.00 X 2 bunnies = 508.00

I just had the two week post surgical visit today, the vet said they're looking great which is fantastic. Behaviorally they are a tad more mellow(just a tad). Gatsby hasn't sprayed since - for that alone it's already well worth the money :bunnydance:. Litter box habits in general are a bit better now.
As for regular visits our vet charges about 45 dollars a bun.
