:( I am at a loss with my new bun. Twitch, mybun, is appropriately named although I am not making light of hiscondition. I saved him a day ago from a breeder that was going to puthim down, although I don't think the breeder was honest with me aboutthis bun. Twitch is at my best guess, and no help from the breeder, only 7 weeks old. He is a mini hoto. I can estimate his weight atapprox. 1/2 - 1 pound. He is fine when he is held but when put in hiscage or on the floor, his head shakes. It reminds me of a person thathas parkinson's disease, trembling from side to side. When he walks orruns, it skakes. If he does run, he falls to his side constantly butcan get up after a struggle. I am so upset and concerned and he doeshave a vet appointment on this wed, but I need advice.... Please help,i am afraid it may be something serious. Also, the breeder, who shouldhave known better, had him eatting moisten pellets, with water, andtons of apples. My vet suggested until I can get him in i bottle feedhim. He has not gained weight since I first saw him 2 weeks ago!:(

oh wow...I wish I had some advice for you, but I honestly have no idea. :(

Is it possible to get him to the Vet tomorrow? It sounds like he really needs to be seen as soon as possible.

Please keep us updated.

Im not sure why he would be falling if he hasgood weight. Maybe malnutrition? You should get him checked by a veteither way. It could even be seisures.

:) I wanted to give ya'll an update on Twitch.Turns out he is a SHE and she is only 4 weeks old. The breeder lied tome and took her from her mother at about 2 weeks old. I am so made butI took her to the vet and everything is GREAT! She has a genetic birthcondition that causes her to tremble in the neck and head, but all iswell. The vet said she might grow out of it, and if she doesn't shewill be fine. We switched her diet to all timothy hay and only 3ml 2times a day of baby food, one veggie and one fruit. So thank you to allfor your help and caring for Twitch! It feels great to know I saved herfrom a death that was not necessary!

Sadly, there are thousands of congenital diseases :( Some aremore common than others. I have seen paralytic tremor inBelgian Hares. Because this condition is an inheritedrecessive gene, breeders should avoid using animals known to carry thedefect. Paralytic tremor rabbits generally survive toadulthood.

Hi harleyandtwitch,

That is a nice picture of Twitch in your avatar.

I would use alfalfa hay and alfalfa pellets for a 4 week oldbunny, as growing bunnies need more protein. Whatkind of baby food are you using?

Rainbows! :)

Wow! It sounds like Twitch is reallylucky you came upon her. I'm so glad you got her to thevet. I also would use alfalfa, but I would check with yourvet first. Timothy is easier to digest, and her poor systemmight be so messed up right now. Orion was between 4 and 5weeks when I got him, but at least he had ok nutrition.

Good luck! Keep us updated.
