Oh, wow ! That is gorgeous!

Is it hard and/or expensive to start up a reef tank?!

Wow! That is so amazing. Ive always wanted a huge aquarium but we dont have much space for one in our house.

Do you have to clean it out? or do the cleaner shrimps do it for you? hehe

I have always wanted a saltwater tank... I am afraid that I will kill everything....I would have to hire someone to come do the up keep...lol....

Isnt so cool so practilly have a part of the ocean in your own home? Its so neat that every thing down to the sand is living or once was .nothing fake.

We had la 150 gallon tank! We had few fish though. Its hard tough cause you nevvder really know what going to happen and you can lose a 100 dollor fish in a week.We had to gve our sell our setup when we moved.

Your tank is beautiful!! I love it!

That is so cool. I love fish! It's so relaxing watching them swim around, and the salt water fish especially are so pretty and colorful. But keeping a tank is not for me — I like watching other people's fish. :D

That's awesome. I've always loved fish. I have a 20 gallon very simple freshwater tank at the moment. One day I want a massive tank, but my mom isn't exactly interested... I don't think I could do the upkeep of a saltwater tank though, at least, not without alot more research.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. As far as the tank goes with maintenance its a give and take relationship. I have about 50 snails and about 15 hermit crabs along with the shrimp and starfish. They help with cleaning up the inside of the tank(ie left over food, fish poop, algae, ect). I will scrub the front glass every couple of days to keep in clean. I have a 30g tank underneath that holds all my filtration. The water drains from the larger tank into the smaller one. The water gets filtered and then gets pumped back up. I will also change about 50g of water ever 3-4 weeks. Its all about letting the system equal itself out. Once that is dont it pretty much takes care of itself. I dont even wanna total up my costs for this tank. Lets just say its almost 5 digits. Its a very beautiful hobby, just very expensive.
