Today, i finally got my rabbit, we were going to wait until we had moved into the new house. (We being me and my mum) but today when we went to Pets At Home...we saw ina seperate cage to all the others a bunny. Now this bunny was white with a smokey grey nose and ears and i fell in love. I was certain he was a lionhead/netherland dwarf so i asked the manager and he confirmed it. He told me the bunny was named Moomin and was not with the others as he didn't get along with them.
Well, i always love the out of place so i asked if i could hold him, the manager was a little unsure saying that the bun was skittish. Well...to my surprise and evidently the managers surprise Moomin jumped out of his arms and into mine, gave me a nip on the nose then proceeded to nestle his head in the side of my neck and my hoodie.
I fell in love completely at that point and begged mum to get him.
She said no!
She then dragged me into Next and Dorothy Perkins before i begged her to go back and reconsider.
We went back, asked about Moomin again, looked at the indoor cages (temp until we move or get NIC, it's really big though. Mum's thinking that when we move she'll devote a room to him) and bought the Nero 4, the biggest one they had, it came with a stand but the side of the cage, a little lip thing was cracked, so, the manager, being a charming man gave us £15 off and considering how much Moomin loved me he took £5 off Moomin too, we got some Timothy hey and some wood shavings, some food pellets and all that good stuff and arrived home with it at about 4ish.
I got him set up and made sure he was comfortable, sat out there with him for a few hours letting him get used to my voice/smell but he kept headbutting the bars, so me being me, i let him out and made sure he couldn't get out of the garage (it's heated at a constant temp) and couldn't hurt himself on anything. He had a run around before flopping down ON my feet and refusing to move, i ended up sitting down with dearest Moomin ontop of me. I didn't mind though, he's adorable.
So yeah, Day one of owning Moomin, or rather...of Moomin owning me.
Going out tomorrow to get some toys, a brush and all that good stuff.
Wish me luck!
He's my 4th bun but he's my 1st real, personally owned bun as i payed for everything only needing mum's permission to let me use her garage as base of opperations whilst i sort out my room and make it bunnyproof.
War And Moomin...who's asleep.
