I've always used Yesterdays News Rabbit Litterfor Stephie with much success. I've noticed that on the picture oftheir cat litter the pellets really look the same. Does anyone know isthere really any difference?

I use the unscented cat variety. Ididn't even know they had a special type for rabbits until I decided totry to figure out what you meant when you said the cat litter lookedthe same. The only difference I can tell from looking at the web siteis that the texture should be different. Your is supposed to be more "rabbit friendly" while the cat litter is supposed to not be as easy totrack around the house. I'll post a close up of what the cat stufflooks like so you can compair...

The picture's a little larger than what I would normally post, but I wanted you to be able to see the details.

I did the very same thing (cat variety of YN), Iknow this is about Yesterday's News but I just wanted to share with youthat I switched to Woody Pet even though I was having no problems withthe News. It is superior in odour control, the transition over to itwas smooooooth ;) and the best thing was the price difference!

Ohh Elf Mommy, I wish I could but I did not bringany with me..I am sure there are many members on this board though thathave it ;(

Mambo,

I used Yesterday's News for a couple of years with Tucker. Was verypleased with it, except for the price. $15 a bag. Since it wasonly Tucker, I just paid it and was glad it was safe.

Buck Jones introduced me to WoodyPet. It is $4.90 for a 25 or 30 lb.bag and it works much better than Yesterday's News. The difference is,not only in the price, but WoodyPet is made out of compressed wood. When the rabbit wets the litter, after a time, the wood soaks up theurine and it dries out. This leaves very little odor, and is mucheasier to clean.

There have been a few posts on here about WoodyPet. I'd stronglyrecommend you check them out. I'll bump one up for you that wasoriginated by JimD. Email Dave, Jr., who works for WoodyPet, and queryhim as to where you can get it near you. It's a superior product.

I have no problems with the unscented YNews also, but I do find bits of plastic and foil in the YNews afterthey get wet. I also use Woody Pet which is my first choicebut when the pellets gets wet and turns to saw dust, it would gettracked outside the litter box and all over the carpet. Tocontrol that I place a plastic stitching screen (from a Crafts shop)over top of the litter. Then the pee drains trough and thepoo stays on top. With Carefresh it seems to be dusty.

Are there any other hints for litter boxes?

Rainbows!

That does it!! I'm getting Woody Pettomorrow! I have to try it. It got amazing reviewsin the chat today...I must try it!

Oh, I don't think there is any difference in the cat/rabbit/ferret versions of Yesterdays News.

Thanks for all the opinions. It really amazes myhow the rabbit version costs so much more than the cat version.:(I'll probably start buying the cat version now and savesome dinero.

I loves YN when I used it, but Woody Pet is justmuch more affordable and beats YN as far as odor control. If you canfind it near you, it's well worth switching over.

My rabbits actually like it better too.

I use the clean and comfy small animallitter...it works alright, although when I pour it into the trash, itdoes stick to the pan and there is some urine in there, so I know thatnot all of it gets soaked up. I'm really interested in woodypet, but I wish there was some way to order it online, cause I thinkthe closest place to get it for me is about 45 min away...personally, Iwouldn't use Yesterdays News or any pelleted litter, b/c I feel Cosmowould confuse it with his food, and eat a lot of it. He hadbeen eating some of the clean 'n comfy, so I put some timothy in therefor him to graze on. Does ANYONE know if I can order WoodyPet online?
