This is my baby girl, Dori :inlove::brownbunny

She is an 8 month old Silver Marten Mix, or that's what they told me anyway. She is a gorgeous dark expresso color with off white belly and paws and inside of her ears :D, I absolutely adore her. Since Berry the last bunny I was looking at was adopted, I was looking for another rabbit I really loved. I saw Dori (her name used to be Starbuck) at the Humane Society every week when I volulnteered, since Mid May. At first I just thought she was cute because she was so social, would just come right up to me when playing in the pen :). Well, after she was spayed I saw she was finally up for adoption, and I had fallen in love with her. Well, I finally decided it was time for her to come to her home. Nobody adopted her since I first layed my eyes on her, so I knew she was meant to be OUR baby girl :bunnieskiss We played around with a lot of names like Coco and Mocha and Motegi, and between dh and I came up with the name Dori, actually he mentioned it and I loved it as soon as I heard it. Dori actually means "Drift" in Japanese. Us being the car people we are, I kind wanted a cute 'car related' name for her like our Nismo and Momo are :D. so Dori it was, I think she looks like a Dori :bunnyheart. She is going thorugh some major adjustment right now, its her first night here, so she's had quite an eventful day. She has been pretty much sticking to the corners most of the day, but she's come out a little bit, we're giving her all the time she needs. Anyway, here she is our new baby girl Dori :party0002:

PS: Her cage is ALOT bigger than it looks in the pics, she just happens to be laying down in a corner of the cage. She has a 4x2x2 cube cage right now. I plan on still adding some perches and stuff to make it funner for her :).

Aww!! Dori's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! What a gorgeous coloring she is! And I love her name, too!

Welcome home, sweet Dori! :)

Congratulations! :D I think that her coloring is so beautiful. She sounds like a great bun and I am glad you were able to give her a home!

Thank you all :). she is starting to slowly adjust. She is such a good girl with her litterbox, I've only seen 4 little pellets next to the litterbox, ALL the rest of her business is inside the box :). She did discover the wonderful world of my carpet, lol, so now I need to figure out how to divert her from that. She has toys and stuff to chew on, so hopefully I can get her off that habit, for the sake of my carpet :shock:, and my apt. landlord, lol

Aw, what a pretty girl :D
Yeah, the color is black otter, isn't it? (Maybe it's just 'otter', I'm only really knowledgeable about dog colorings, lol! It's 'black and tan' dangit!)
Anyway, she seems really nice~ Butter rushes up to the front of the cage, too....but then darts to the back once he realizes you're going to open it :?
.... Nice car-related theme :p... Buuut...why is 'Momo' car-related, again? It means 'peach'.....
I like how her cage compliments her colors :) Nice idea

Hehe,

Momo = Car parts company

Nismo = Nissan Motorsports

Dori = Drift (as in the sport) :D

Only one that isn't car related is my Bella, lol, but that's just because the name came to me on the spot of her and it stuck.

Oh man, Dori was making my heart melt this morning, I'm sure buns like this a lot, but I just found out how much she LOVES getting petted on the head :pet:. Before work, I lay down with her next to her cage and petted her a bit, she went low to the ground and let me do it. Then as soon as I stopped she stood up, then I put my hand close to her again on the floor, and she put her head down and nuddged my hand so I could keep petting her!:inlove: If I stopped and moved my hand to the side of her head, she would turn her head around and put her face under my palm so I could keep petting her. OMG it was to die for. I petted her for like 20 minutes, I would stop for a minute and move further away, and she would come closer to me and try to move her head close to my hand. This little girlie is just stealing my heart :biggrin2:

Here is a couple more pics of my Dori, these were taken back in May by another volunteer at the same humane society when they were putting her online trying to get her adopted.

Isn't it cute how they keep trying to get you to pet them on the head? It's like nowhere else on their body counts but the top of their head (And ears) :D I know Butter would have me petting there until he went bald if I'd have done it, haha.
Oh, she's so pretty :shock: I'm surprised she wasn't adopted earlier! This must mean it was fate ;)
