Hi , Ive just got a bunny.First of all , I dontknow whether the rabbit is spayed or not,it is 1 year old, long hairedbunny. I do not know anything about a rabbit but Ive done some readingon the basic needs of the rabbit.

Ive provided a litter box with handful of hays in it,water bottle, and a pan for her meal.

For the first two days, she was not very active and stayed in her cagefor the whole day.I fed the rabbit with pellets, and sometimes i givevegetables.

Although I've provided the litter box,it doesnt really use it as ithought it would be,but sometimes there I can see there are poop andurine in the little box. So,every morning when I wake up,i would cleanup the floor and place a new set of newspapers. Also,Ive read that theyuse the litter box to sleep too,but Ive never seen this happen so far.

Today,Ive construct a PVC fence at my garden for the rabbit to chillout in the evening..Ive noticed a very different behaviour,I placed avase in the middle and she likes to rub her chin on it..She sniffed onsomething in the vase and started to sneeze(which I think is verycute).Later on,it ran around the vase quickly and sometimes it kicksthe ground pretty hard,I thought it would hurt the rabbit orsomething..It also made some noises which I dont know what it means, itslike "hummm" and it does it quite often while it was sitting beside meand sniffing at me.What does it really mean? Besides that, the rabbitalso started to dig the ground with its front legs and wanted to gounder the fence..Then,the rabbit hops high up from the ground and hitthe fence, which I freaked out..It hopped to the left and right..Thatsabout it , I let her play for 15minutes..

So,do you think the rabbit enjoyed playing at the garden with the"humm" noises it made or is it just stressed and its something therabbit doesnt like?

Hi fever003, congratulations on getting a Bunny.

Is she an indoor or outdoor bunny? I would be very carefulwhen she is outside, as rabbits can dig and run away and also there maybe other dangers out there such as dogs, birds.

Make sure she has unlimited hay, at her age you should be giving it Timothy hay.

Rubbing her chin on things is a way for the rabbit to put their sent on the object saying :That's Mine".

Theirs so much to learn about bunnies, I've had them for 8 years now and I'm still learning new things everyday.

I'm sure you will get lots of help from many people on this forum. Don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your little one. Whats her/his name?

Yes,I put all the hay into her litter box only.On the first day I gave her the Timothy hay,it ate plenty of them.Thenext day,I did not change but there was some urine in there but all thepoops are outside.I changed the day after and still havent see therabbit eat the hays.Anything wrong which I did?

And thanks for the replies to SOOSKA and maherwoman,it is a pleasure tohear from you two saying that my bunny is very happy making the hummnoises.I was afraid that the noise indicates a negative reaction fromthe bunny because the rabbit is not used to outdoors.Therabbit is an indoor rabbit ofcourse..

Haha, about the name I always call the rabbit Tibbaroh. Read "Oh Rabbit" backwards..

Also not to forget,Ive noticed that the rabbit usually runs around inthe cage and shake its head..What is it trying to tell? A sign ofunhappiness? It happens when Im about to give it some food,so I had toopen the cage and it starts doing that..Im curious to know what itreally means

Not to forget,my rabbit likes to sniff me,itsalittle tickleish, but no licking, nibbling, biting. Is sniffing a sign oftrust/affection?

Hi fever003, I saycount yourself as lucky.

I have 4 Bunnies one is the most lovable little guy Thats Buttercup, he kisses and snuggles with us.

The brother and sisteronly have eyes for eachother. Jackie never lets us pet her and I think in 3 years Ihave gotten 1 kiss from her, Wilbur will let me pet his head &nose for a couple of minutes.

Daisy Mae will let us pet her but she grunts alot, no kisses from her yet in over a year.

I'd say she's getting to know you. I'm sure you will eventually get kisses once she fully trusts you.

You're so welcome...anything I (and anyone else, too) can do to help! :)

As far as the head shaking, it sounds like she's excited about her food! :)

Love the Tibbaroh idea...cute, and very creative!! :D

Hehehe! I did not know having a rabbit is somuch fun..Yeah,I like to see the rabbit shaking its headmaherwoman..Its funny, and its doing alot of binky today while it is outat the garden..There was once, did a binky and landed on me..The rabbitalso likes to run around my legs in circles..I tried giving her slicesof banana as treats while it was playing but it did not eat it at all..

SOOSKA i hope you are right..I cant wait to get a kiss from my rabbit.. :p

Do any of you have any idea how I can build a strong big fence for therabbit to play safely with a low cost? I think my PVC fence is startingto break apart due to the crazy binky my rabbit did...

Does your rabbit have red eyes or a red tint to the eyes?

If so - when it moves its head it is "scanning" and trying to get some depth perception.
