are you shure you want to mix the dog and the rabbit? im no expert but terriers instinct is to hunt. even if you do train the dog to treat the rabbit and a frend, there is still a chance the dog wud turn, it happened with my auntie, she had 2 rabbits and a dog.. after a while the dog broke into the cage and left 1 and 1/2 :S sorry but IMO i wudnt risk it

Years ago, our little house bunny "Princess Anne" would attack our JRT and take his blankey away. :devil However, I agree that supervision is a must.

We rabbit-sit occasionally, and our newJRT Cracker Jack was attempting to get the rabbit to play ball with him. He'd give the rabbit the ball, and when the rabbit didn't throw the ball back, he'd push it closer to the rabbit's face. I wish I had video of it - it was absolutely hysterical watching Cracker waiting for the rabbit to throw the ball to him.

I think JRTs in other countries might be different to what we have here, I looked up pictures and the JRTs in the pictures were not like what I've seen here, our JRTs are small with short legs, while the ones I've seen online have quite long legs. This puppies mother is one of those small, short leg JRTs. Here is a picture of a stud dog to show you what I'm talking about

As you can see his legs are quite short

oh wow, yeah that is different. The JRT here are either what we call mini JRt or normal one lol.. haha we have some short legged too though there was one at the puppy school Oscar went to.

He almost looks like a rat terrier. It could just be the limited gene pool and selective breeding form the different countries. It is interesting how some breeds look different in different places.

Yeah I think it's just the way we breed them here, like that picture is of a stud dog who has won shows and everything. When I went on google and typed in Jack Russell in images I was like, they aren't Jack Russells! So I looked into it and found our ones are smaller with shorter legs altogether

Nope not yet, not for another two weeks or more :( Don't worry you will all know when she get's here I'll be posting a ton of pictures :)

YAY!
Oh and btw, don't be fooled into thinking your new puppy is is sweet not mischievous one lol. That's what i thought of Oscar on his first 2 or 3 days home but after 5 days or so his playfulness cameout.

Oscar slept pretty much the whole day on his first day home, and was kinda quiet but then after a while he settled home alright! lol meaning a whole lot of barking and whining and biting and growling. All they wanna do is play!

JRT's are a whole lot of fun.

Have you thought of a name yet?

Yeah we've had puppys before, they sure are crazy little guys! After looking into it, we decided to go with getting a crate, haven't ordered it yet though. No name yet, we have been looking up some and thinking but we'll probably wait until we get her to pick a name.
