first growl

It was 930pm,i wanted to supply my rabbit with asmall snack before i go to bed.It was sitting down and when I open upthe cage,it didnt really react,when i put my hand in the cage it willsniff me but not this time..Instead,it didnt a noise which I neverheard before,and i think it was growling and then it hopped away andturn its back towards me..I didnt hear the playful noise..

What do you think?

What you describe sounds to me like your bunnywas telling you to 'stay away'. It could be from anything....that(he/she) wasn't in the mood to have any attention at the moment, or hemay not have been feeling well, or something could have startled yourrabbit during the night, causing him to be upset, or it could be thebeginning signs of cage aggression. Some rabbits consider their cages'home turf' and develop an intense dislike of anyone coming near themwhen they are in it. Keep an eye on his reactions to you when you doapproach the cage, and take some treats with you to offer. Let him cometo you when you open the door. Also check for any signs ofillness or injury, though I suspect it may be more of a 'mood' issue...

I think its a mood issue.I have not seen itdoing this.Hehe,It was fine that night at 730pm when I gave itsdinner.It was very active and played while it was eating! Sniffed myhand and catching my hand in the cage,sniff it again up to my elbow andmade the humming noises at the same time(thats a happy bunny isntit?) but not at 930pm when giving its snack..

My bunny growls at me sometimes, if I scare heror she is just being grumpy. Her growl sounds kind of honky andpiggy-ish. She gets in these moods for about an hour or so, and thenshe is over it. Sometimes when I move stuff in her cage she honks atme... just watch your hands. I scared her once and she smacked me good!

LoL to Starina..Yeah,the growl soundspiggy-ish..Ive got bitten once by my rabbit but I think it was anib,since we were playing catching..

I got growled at by Baby for the first time theother day... I think she must just have been in a bad mood, becausewhenever I went near her (even just standing by her!) she would growlat me! She even jumped up on me and growled right in my face... I gotkinda scared, she looked like she was going to bite me
