Hello all,

I'm Rose, the humble slave of 4 "lovely" bunnies.

We all live in Voorburg, the Netherlands.

let me introduce the rabbits:

First our eldest couple, Hopper and Sarah. They live in the kitchen/on the balcony and are always allowed out of their cage. They've been mates for years now. Nobody knows how old they are, but we got Hopper in 2002 and he must have been at least one year old then. He's almost blind now, but still can find his way around the kitchen, with a little aid from Sarah. Mind your fingers though; because he cannot see you coming, you'll frighten him easily and he bites :p

Then our newlyweds: Muts (can't translate that, sorry) and Troy. We got Troy last year as a mate for Meneer Jansen, who sadly died in may of this year. They never got along. Then I found Muts on the internet, and she looked so funny that I HAD to have her. Muts and Troy were bonded at Muts's former house, and are living happily together in our living room. They cannot run around all day, because they are young and demolish your stuff.

All rabbits come from different rabbit sanctuaries in the Netherlands.

Hi there and welcome to RO!

Your bunnies are just gorgeous! I especially love Muts coloring- hes such a beautiful color of red! They are all adorable!

Its funny because Dutch is a breed of rabbits (I have two) so when I saw "dutch rabbits say hello" I assumed you had "dutch" rabbits. lol

Welcome to you and the bunnies!

Haley

hi Haley,

thanks for your welcome.

We used to have a Dutch bunny, Meneer Jansen. When my daughter and I were visiting NY in may, she died.

The rabbit can be seen on my picasa webalbum.

Meneer Jansen was a lovely rabbit, more like a cat actually. she loved to be cuddled, and sit on your lap for hours, giving lots of bunny kisses.

Well, you seem to be Dutchie lovers, so I proudly present:

Sort of sitting on her butt, and giving bunny kisses.

Sweet bunny ... we miss her so much!

She looks like she was an absolute doll! I have to admit, when I saw your title I thought that you meant Dutch as in the breed too :D

All of your babies are gorgeous, then again, I don't think that I've ever seen a rabbit that I didn't think was adorable!

me either:biggrin2:!

Have you got more pictures of Sarah and Hopper? I saw the pics in your webalbum and enjoyed each pose. You are a special rabbit guardian to care for them and Hopper is lucky to have Sarah, and lucky to be in a home where you recognize his eyes are failing. Aahhh, the gift of devoted guardians as rabbits ease on into senior citizen years.

Sarah kinda resembles our harlequin (disabled) Karla. All your bunnies are beautiful, including dutch beloved Meneer. Thanks for sharing!

Can you post the rabbit sanctuaries where your bunnies came from?

Sure, but they are of course in the Netherlands....

Hopper comes from "het Knagertje" in The Hague, Sarah from "de Hoge Hoed" in Rotterdam, Troy from "stichting Bunnybin" in Ermelo and Muts from somebody in The Hague who rescued about 20 hungry and underfed rabbits, living at a breeder who went bankrupt.

Meneer Jansen was our only "sin", she came from the pet store around the corner. Her future was "back to the breeder"which meant being fed to a snake. So we took her in, and had a little over 2 wonderful years with this special rabbit. She loved us dearly, and we loved her back.
