couldnt agree more:Dnot that im biased or anything.....

what a beautiful set of bunnies - they all seem such characters! expecially Roxanne - definitely living up to her regal namesake:)

Roxanne is a character for sure... will post later on her brief escape from the turnout pen later... she is safe in her cage now but chasing a new bunny gave me a heart attack for a brief moment...:nerves1:faint:

Congratulations!!

Your patience has paid off. Absolutely gorgeous bunnies! :)

YAY!!!!

They are absolutely adorable!!! I'm even more excited because I have an idea now of what Dotty might have looked like as a baby too!! I just love, love, love their markings. They look like they will be a right handful soon lol! How lucky are you to have 5 of them?

Dotty sends nosebumps to her new cousins! :D She nipped at first as well, and then started licking soon enough!

And I cannot WAIT to see baby Checkered Giants!!:shock:

Congratulations!!

obviously looking for an Alexander Bun;)

Personality and attitude...

Worked on Roxanne's cage - but it is not secure so she did not get to go in it and without a lot of supervised turnout time, she was one angry rabbit.

So, I worked around the growling, the scratching and the lunges when I fed her and eventually got her to relax and I apologized to her that she does not have the big cage yet. It took some time but she finally let me pet her and stroke her.

This AM I was up early... had to get the laundry finished and I brought Roxanne inside. She was much happier - explored, hopped on top of the carry cage (I took a picture - will post when I get home later) I use to get her and the others in the house, then she ripped around my living room.

The sound of a Checkered Giant stomp in enclosed quarters is LOUD and the house shook... sounded like I actually let Mercy or Freedom in the house instead.

But, the end result was a much happier bunny. I got her cage cleaned out (she seemed very territorial about her space), and even held her. I had one growl as I picked her up but I started talking to her and she started sniffing my neck and I could feel her big body start to relax.

I had momentary visions of her turning into Bunnicula and taking a chomp out of my neck with those big chompers but luckily she just sniffed me and then she went back to the smaller cage without incident.

House chores are a heckuva lot more fun with a giant bunneh knocking about the house. Juliette is next in line for indoor turnout time.

Being show bunnies, they have to be intact... nothing like a hormonally charged giant rabbit but I am up to the task, growling and all.

Calliope and Grace are the love bunnies - they greet me at the cage and love to be petted. I hope they stay that way.

Remy and Jared are warming up to me - while I worked on Roxanne's cage, they were watching me closely and then they came up for noserubs. They are characters, for sure.

And now I have to go to work - I wish they allowed rabbits in school... :)

And the fun continues. There are rules that Checkered Giants have... and they are teaching me the rules...

Roxanne: No hands in my cage. It is my cage. I don't care if you are putting food in my cage, trying to clean it or whatever... fingers and hands will be scratched, growled at and bitten. Suggestion - let me have turn out time and you can do whatever to my cage. Just remember, I do not want to be in it.

If I am having turn out time, I will perform "Rippin' Rabbit." That is like scamperpuppy that dogs do, or binkies...but I am way too big to binky. I do it but I call it Rippin' Rabbit. Oh, and have lots of room for me to flop on my side. It seems to make you laugh and squeal so make sure I have room to perform.

I do like noserubs and will come up to see if you dare try. Just remember rule one, no fingers in my cage and all will be fine.

Jared & Remy: Cool - you are coming to visit us now! We like hay, and dinner and if you are dumb enough to climb in our cage to clean it out (yeah, you made it kinda big), you are fair game to be climbed on. You can pet us - we don't mind fingers reaching in... yet. Just don't pick us up - we have places to go and things to see and don't have time to cuddle (we were born at the end of March).

Calliope and Grace: If you lift the cage lid, we will stand up to see if we can jump out - jumping helps develop the big muscles in our hind legs. If you try to cuddle us like those Hollands of yours, we will bite whatever you present to us. Sorry about the Bunnicula bite on your neck (courtesy of Grace) but you didn't bother to ask us if it was OK. Noserubs are OK and we love to be stroked all over but cuddling us is out. We were born April 24th but we know what we like. Oh yeah, and keep bringing us the handfuls of grass - we are enjoying that and the hay and oats and pellets.

Juliette (the English Spot): Man, those are some big rabbits!

Tim (hubby): What did you bring home, jackrabbits?

Axel (Holland Lop buck): Let me have the big does over for a date...please?

Juno (Holland Lop): Thanks for giving me the nestbox today - the kits are due on Sunday. I could care less about the new neighbors... do you have my Craisins? I'm eating for at least three...

Roxanne had me in stitches this morning with her version of the binky - "Rippin' Rabbit." She went tearing about the horse stall, kicking her heels up, leaping on top of her cage (her big hutch needs some finish work still) and then tearing around again before flopping on her side (tada, I'm done for now). She knows when she sees me that it is time to rip it up and she tolerates me picking her up only to move her to move her to an open area, and that is it.

Last night's update - cleaning the huge cage Remy and Jared have is a challenge so I took them out and put them into the carry cage so I could strip the litter box and sweep the floor of the cage.

Remy let me hold him for a bit with no biting.:inlove:

Jared is more like Roxanne - got places to go to and no time to be held.

Roxanne was queen of the house today - I posted her on video and pics on another thread.

I do adore her... did hold Grace and got a nip on my shoulder...better than the Bunnicula bite I got previously. Calliope was much more tolerant, as was Remy. Jared was like, No, I don't think so... heard Roxanne got a carrot... where's MINE?"

Remy would answer to Jared: "What's yours is mine, bro."
