Breed, chewing, and bonding questions :D

Hello! I got a rabbit awhile ago. I was told he was 2 or 3 but they really have no idea. He was very snuggly and loving. Even when we first got him. I had a rough time with being very busy with my young daughter in the hospital etc. I was so tired and stressed I didn't get to spend much time with him for awhile...He was doing very good and now only lets one of the kids in the house pet him. He will come sort of close to me. I've tried laying on the floor, trying to share food with him, give him food, etc. He just doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. Except for yesterday when I was on the computer using my headphones and he decided to chew the cord in half because it was hanging down low. Which he has also never done. I have a lot of things for him to chew and play with...But any suggestions would be amazing. Its just not like him at all. I've noticed he's been checking out and wanting to hang out with my dog a lot. But my (70 lb) dog is scared of him still so he gets up and goes in his kennel when he thinks our bunny wants to get close to him lol. Oh and I will post a hopefully decent enough couple pictures of him. I was hoping maybe someone knew what breed he was. His name is Momiji.

I've been trying to give him nothing but attention it seems and he just seems he doesn't want it. I'm still doing things to try to spend time with him even though he doesn't want me right now. He's been out this whole time and I've used my headphones before and he's never chewed them so it's very odd to me. I was told he was an indoor bunny so we haven't gone outside with him it's also very cold and snowy so I was worried if he's never been outside how he would do. but he seems happy roaming the house and hanging out with us. Or he was anyway. They didn't know if he was neutered. They said they thought he was. I haven't had his first wellness appointment yet. I had to reschedule due to the hospital thing. So that hasn't happened yet haha. I guess I don't know how to give him attention if he is mad at me or seems like he doesn't want it?

He looks sort of like a Dutch bunny to me my advice is from experience. I have a bunny named summit who for the longest time wanted nothing to do with me I would give her special treats give her cuddles and then one I found out what the issue was. I was trying so hard to make her like me that when I would go see her every time I would pick her up EVERY time making her think I “shoot she is coming to pick me up” every time I went to see her. After I figured that out I would go to her and pet her and NOT pick her up. Then when she was beginning to get comfortable with m will would once a day pick her up and feed her a treat and now we are best buddies some rabbits just sometimes really don’t like some things that other bunnies are fine with. They all have there different personalities. so what I am trying to say is there is always something your continuously doing that your bunny doesn’t like so you have to figure out what that is! Hopefully that helps

He chewed that cord because he's a rabbit. Completly natural instinct, if something thin hangs in their way, they cut it. Some more, some less, and not always, but days getting longer is always a time of more unrest and energy.
Tree branches are a great way to live out that urge, and they are a healthy snack. How would a rabbit tell the difference between some toy and furniture?

Well, sounds like you have a pretty bored and somewhat lonely bunny there. They are very social animals, and we or other species just can't fill that spot. They know very well that we are something different, although some rabbits can get along really well with other species, but it's just not the same - once you have seen a pair of rabbits interact for some time you'll know. Here it's even not legal to keep pet rabbits alone.
A stuffed animal might help a little to ease that yearning. Other than that, patience, and act normal. Giving attention and trying can overdo it when it's not in sync with the rabbits mood doesn't work. Be there, do what you feel, and don't worry too much.

I will have to try to figure that out. Thank you. The only thing I did different I can think of was the lack of attention with the hospital thing. So now I've just been trying to pick up where we left off type of thing. But he seems not really into it haha. I'll keep trying to think of things and stuff. Thank you!!

Thank you. Yes we have tree branches, toys, a stuffed animal, etc. But yeah. If it's hanging where he is I can see that. Ive always had two bunnies at a time so I see what you're saying. That was what I was wondering too if he needs a friend of the same species. Especially since he wants to be friends with my dog and hes not into it makes me think he's definitely lonely. We have been looking into that.
