I use a product very similar to Woody Pet, called "PineStall". Basically the same thing but a differentbrand. Can't get Woody Pet very easily where I live.

But I do the litter with hay on top for my bun. I like thismethod. Although I normally scrunch the hay up at the top ofthe litter box, and push the litter to the back.
I use the Pine Stall, too. The corner pet store carries WoodyPet, and I used that for a long time, but I ran out and tried the PineStall, and liked it even better because I can wet it down and itbreaksdown almost into sawdust (which isn't as messy as itsounds). It goes really far that way, smells great, and mostimportantly, it's easy on their feet.My little bunsseem uncomfortable scrambling over thebig pellets.

I also put hay on one side of the litter pan like my neighbour Dawn.:) They can sit and munch and ... do their thing. Abunny magazine equivalent.;)

Wildfirealways pees in the same spot, so having litter at the front of mylitter box doesn't do anything. My litter pan is squarethough, as you can see in my avatar.

With the wood pellets, I find with my bun that I don't need to cleaneveryday, I normally do it every second or third day. But ifyou want to keep a nice clean/dry environment to help his hock sores(which Wildfire had when I got her from the breeders), you can justscoop out the wet part, and mix the litter around and add a little bitof new litter.

Pet_Bunny had a really good post on how he keeps his litter box, but I don't know where it is.

Good luck! And what a cute bunny!

Hi Dawn !

There's lots of different brands and qualities of wood pellets outthere. There's a thread that has a list & I'll bump it if I canfind it.

I put the hay racks right next to the corner litter pans I use. Thebuns tend to sit in the pan, eat, and poop all at the same time. Thepellets absorb very well so the buns don't get wet when they sit in thelitter.....maybe some dry sawdust on the tushie upon exiting....(aka"Woody-butt")

I change and clean the pans every 2 - 3 days depending on bunnieoutput. They all have different litter habits. They all pee all of thetime in their pans...& all have different preference ofcorner(s). I use to scoop, but now just dump the whole sheebang...it'seasier. You can also compost the whole lot. The wood pellets break downthe urine so it's safe for the garden. Bunnie pellets make greatfertilizer too...especially for roses....gotta make it into abunnie-poo-soup for best results.

Pet_Bunny uses a piece of plastic mesh over the litter for Pebbles. Youcan find it at a lot of art&craft places. It's called "plasticcanvas"....I think.
I have one bun that I had to make a plastic grate for, because sheliked to dig the litter out of her pan. I improvised and used somestuff I had around the house. I'll try to get my daughter to take somepics to post.

Hot topic for debate and discussion for sure...

Some of you may remember the big to-do about the decline in quality of Woody Pet.
The price went up in a lot of areas and the size of the pellets decreased. This caused many to find alternatives to Woody Pet.
Actually this was a good thing, because we were able to research a lot and find different brands to use.
I found out something interesting when I started to research Guardianbrand. I found a lady that bought it for herself, but sold some thruher landscaping business. She bought it by the truckload. She told methat Guardian, and some of the others, had started to market a newproduct referred to as "crumble". It's actually pellets that have beenpartially crumbled and is also a natural by-product when they make thepellets. The manufacturers label it as "litter" or "bedding" instead ofpellets.
I strongly suspect that's what went on with the Woody Pet as far as quality goes....price increase is another thing.
