I have a male as well as a female that i purchased recently. I kept them together and they female just had 4 babies but all were born dead :( So for now i have kept them seperated from one another until i get one of them either spayed or neutered. So i looked in the yellow pages and the vets want around 300 dollars US for them.I think thats a really big rip off.Any places i can get it done for less? I cant afford it at 300 or so but im willing to spend as much as 200 to get it done.Im in fort lauderdale,FLorida which is close to miami. Thanks

Whoa! That seems like waaaaaaaaaaaay too much! I paid 50$ for my male to be neutered and it was 114$ for a spay. I general price is usually between 100-150$. I hope someone can find you a less expensive vet!

i hope so :( it seems like such a rip off

Wow, I wouldn't even expect that much for a spay! Way more than most places.. that's just incredible!

Have you checked the vet listings inCA? I took a quick look, and there are lots of listings, I wonder if one might be closer and cheaper?

I wonder if you also might be able to call a local humane society and ask which vet does their rabbit spays/neuters or if they have any recommendations.

That is just incredible ! I hope you find a cheaper place! Bruno's neuter was $85 with an exam.

Actually yea in Florida it doesn't surprise me. Towards Boston some vets will charge that for male and $400 for a spay.

I Know people down that way. I will see if I can find anything for you.

Thanks.Im a college student.Really dont have that kind of money sitting around unfortunately

wow. i live in newfundland. we have 1 vet who will even look at these kinds of pets and he doesnt charge 300. he charges 147 plus tax so about 200 when its all said and done. look for another vet, but unless he's the only one around he proably knows it and he probaly thinks he can charger what ever he wants.

i hope you find another vet. go to the spca or what ever rescue that handles rabbit. they normally have there animals done befor there adopted out(well they do here anyways) ask them as im sure they wont pay 300 for that job. maybe they can help. i know thats how i found the vet for my bunny

I believe it! In my area, to get my male spayed they said 200-300 as well! So now we are looking to drive out more for a cheaper price... becuase thats outrageous!!!

 wow i payed 150.00 and that was for antibiotics, office visit, nueter, pain medication, teeth cutting, so to me that isnt that bad for all i got.

You poor thing that sort of pricing puts you off doesnt it.

Australia in the place i live it cost$117 for neuter with pain meds and $187 for spaying with pain meds. My doe needed 3 follow up visits as was loosing weight and there was no extra charge for antibiotics and other stuff.

We have 3 other bucks to be neutered so we will be saving but your vet fees are unaffordable.

Wow I thought 92.00 in New Brunswick for a male was bad...I will stop complaining! You could ask around at the SPCA's and see if they have the cheap neuter program. Also sometimes vet colleges will do it for cheaper.

Good luck
