Sometimes this happens on a first litter. Rabbits in the wild will eat the dead young to keep predators from finding the nest. I would rebreed her since this was just her first litter. She probably will be fine next time. Sorry you lost the babies. Sharon

I agree with BlueGiants but also, I will breed a rabbit for a friend. I do not do it for strangers or people that I do not know all that well. I will only do it if I know the person VERY well. Also, even though I know the person, I still check the doe for health issues and I never let them...

It if fine to breed two dwarfs, I just wouldn't breed a BUB to a small doe. With the "true" dwarf does, they can have problems passing babies if the babies are too big. When I breed them, I make sure I use the smallest buck I have. Sharon
