Twilah was bred yesterday, so she is due May 8th.

I can't wait, this will be my first litter of dutchies.

:woohoo

BTW are dutch rabbits always such aggressive breeders? The Hollands are sweet and will groom each other. Not the dutch, he just attacked her got down to business FAST. It surprised me. LOL

Congrats! :)

We're going to be breeding our Mini Rex girl, Sage, tomorrow and her babies will be due May 9th or 10th.

I think it just depends on the buck, lol. Some take their time and act as if they want to get to "know" the doe, but others just get right down to business. lol.

Can't wait for another baby fix!

Dutch bucks are unlike most breeds. They don't want to take time to get to know the doe. They would rather get right to business than get to know her better...LOL. Congrats. Hopefully she took.

Dutch babies are unique in that you can see the markings the day they are born. From day one, I can tell who I will cull out to pet homes.

Dutch also make awesome mothers. I have never had a problem with a dutch being aggressive towards their babies. They have even raised a few woolies for me.

BTW, what colors are the doe and buck?

Twilah is Blue.

The buck is Harlequin, my friend is trying to get more of a blue fawn harlie color out of them. She is starting to work on a Harlie line of dutch.

So who knows what we are going to get.

I would have liked to have bred her with a blue or black, butKim convinced me to use her harlie buck.

yeah!!! i love my dutchies too. AMita looks like she swallowed a watermelon when she gets bred. She's fostered babies for me before too. She had 7 of her own and three hollands. She took good care of them, I mean i still lost the hollands but they were almost a week younger than the dutch babies. a blue harlie baby, that sounds interesting. I'm more a tort, blue and steel person on them. dunno why, blue's in any breed are my favs . . . (Hence 6 blue dutch, broken blue holland, blue mini rex-can't tell i love my blues) please pics as she gets cubbier. I promise i'll get some of Poppy( my mini rex doe) as she gets bigger!
