    Edible Flowers

The corn husk (leaves) are edible. Just to be safe we dry ours out...it makes for a nice change during the winter months! A different flavor of fiber! Marigolds are supposed to keep cats out of the garden btw! Haven't heard about it working on rabbits. Danielle :)

She's bit me hard! I'm jealous of the sweet ones I read about.

My hubby and I adopt "aggressive" rabbits. They are harder to place and I like their attitude!:) The good news is that the rabbits all grown into beautiful and fun family members with no more biting!:) I have found aggressive rabbits have the best personalities...they just require work and...

    thumper trims her own nails?

Our boy Leo does this... It is weird isn't it!? Good news is...we have had him for 5 years and never had to trim his nails... HOWEVER...he tends to gnaw them into points...so to keep from getting shredded we have to use an emery board to file the tips down!

    Nursing Bunny Help?

Because they were dog caught have you treated with any anti-biotics? If so what one(s)? Have you treated the cuts and scrapes? If so with what? Are you feeding straight KMR? Generally I use a mixutre of KMR, whole goats milk, heavy cream and either benebac to bolster their gut or a bit of...

Tight mat close to skin. Help??

Sometimes if you can fit the teeth of a comb between the fur and the skin...you can use it as a buffer between the two and keep from shaving down too low or irritating the skin!:)

    She is building a nest!!!

Our Gypsy girl is spayed...has been for almost two years... and she still builds nest once or twice a year. We let her build her nest...let her futz with it for a week or so until she is done and then we clean it up! I've noticed this seems to be more common in late spays.

    Rabbit Litter

Nope...domestics and wilds have a different number of chromosomes...so no baby bunnies happening that way!:) Our girl Gypsy was a late spay... And at least once a year she builds a beautiful nest and fusses around with it for a week or so and then when she is done...we clean it up!

    Poop Issue

Generally we try to aim for 14-15% protein, and at three years...timothy based! If she is already eating veg you can keep going! You just want to make sure that if you are trying to fix the mushy poop issue that you don't add anything else to the mix too soon! For example...if you decided to...

Welcome!:biggrin2: A couple of questions... What type of pellets is she getting? Is it a healthy pellet or does it have seeds and coloured bits in it!? Can you check the bag to see the % of protein!? Our girl Butters...also a mini had the same issue. Sometimes it really is a diet issue! If...

    Post Discipline Behaviors :(

Digging, "love"nips and bites are part of normal rabbit behavior... Since he was a mature neuter it will take a while for his hormones to settle down. Our male was doing this and it took about 3 months for him to stop the digging and nipping. He has been neutered since beginning of December...

Live Rabbits are Lunch at Big Cat Rescue

As a wildlife rehabber...yes...live squirrels, cottontails and other small mammals are used to rehab birds of prey and larger predators for release into the wild. Do I agree...idk... I am a small mammal rehabber...so I find it personally repulsive and unfair...but I do see the value of...

    Thumping over and over again....

Oh...I almost forgot!:) I am a wildlife rehabilitator...one day our lionhead girl Peppers started thumping and wouldn't stop... It was driving me crazy. Finally I went in the bunny playroom and took a really good look around...nothing. So I was getting ready to leave the room and I happened to...

    Thumping over and over again....

We have 11 rabbits...5 in the livingroom and 6 in our bunnyplayroom at the back of the house... The first time they did this I thought maybe it was mice in the attic, a noise outside, just plain old bunny paranoia...but they have kept doing it over the years... At first I tried to ignore...
