Hi all, I’m new to this site so apologies if I don’t know how to use it lol. But anyways, me and my girlfriend got our bunny Loki neutered last Friday (7/12) and he has been doing very well, we used an inflatable collar on him and while he absolutely hated it, it did stop him from chewing and licking at his wound. However this morning he had somehow removed his collar and when we checked his incision it was much more swollen and it looked like he might’ve opened it up. There was no leaking blood and we haven’t seen any red spots anywhere in his cage. We contacted the vet thru text and haven’t heard back and my girlfriend is stressing so thats why I’m here. He doesn’t seem to be acting differently, still eating, drinking, pooping and peeing. I just don’t know if we should be immediately concerned or let it heal and watch him more closely so it won’t get worse. Thanks!

He has definitely reopened the incision.
Doesnt look infected per say (yet) but it is extremely angry.
He should go back to the clinic. They may wany to close it again or give him antibiotics and leave it open to drain.

Definitely get him back to the vet tomorrow asap, even if they haven't responded to you. Call or just take him in. To minimize contamination of the open wound, keep his flooring/environment clean, and make sure to keep the collar on him as well.
