So my rabbit broke 2 of his toenails and I am going to be showing him on 5/18/19 and I was wondering because of that will he be disqualified?
. Thanks!
. Thanks!
Ok thanks he is a Holland lop so does that mean he would be okay or not? Sorry I don't know a ton just starting out☺The toenails need to long enough to determine color for it to not be a DQ. The judges will probably be more picky about it if its a variety that's prone to nail issues (anything dilute, anything sable based, etc)
Ok thankos! one of his tonsils he just broke off barley past the quick and you can barley see a little bit of white on the toenail and the other one he broke basically his whole entire nail offBlack tortoise holland lops don't usually have nail issues. Blue tortoise and sable point hollands do sometimes. Broken holland lops are allowed mismatched nails, but usually just have white nails, so with the broken it doesn't need to be long enough to tell color, just long enough that he know hes not missing a nail entirely. How badly did he break his toenails? Even if theres just a couple millimeters of nail left it's usually enough to tell color. (If you have any other questions on rabbit showing as well, feel free to ask me, I'm an ARBA judge and I've been showing for years. I used to breed holland lops but only show Himalayans now.)
Hello. I’m new to the rabbit world. We just purchased a Mini Rex, broken black n white doe for my daughter. She has all white nails except for one. No. Broken mini rex are allowed to have any color toenail. It says in their standard "Toenails may be white or colored, no preference to either". If you are interested in showing I recommend buying the standard of perfection for ARBA, it is invaluable for finding the answers to these questions.Hello. I’m new to the rabbit world.
