Friday morning when I went in the feed thebabies, I was instantly worried. Saphy's food dish had thisyucky diarrhea type stuff in it, but the more I looked, everythinglooked normal in the cage. So I dismissed it as he had poopedand peed in then dish. Later, I cleaned the cage, and alllooked good.

I was gone the rest of Friday and got home yesterday evening, only tofind the same thing. All good poops in the cage and then thisnasty pool of.....well, you know that I mean. Then to top itall off, he has been sitting in it. I know this because I sawhim do it and when I picked him up to make sure it wasn't diarrhea, hislittle but was clean and his feet were all wet anddisgusting. So today, he must have a bath...oh it will be somuch fun... I also ruled out diarrhea because he is actingperfectly normal, ran all around and tormented all the buns in theircages. Made Daisy so mad, she tried to bite him.....he's abrat! (but I love him)

Why? Because they are disgusting little squirts at that age.:pPushy, yucky, obnoxious, adorable little brats.

Seriously, I know what you're talking about. Try a dish he can't sitin.;)It gets about 100% better by 8 mo., when they startunderstanding the concept of hygiene and realizing if they mess thefood, they can't eat it.

Good luck--who would have thought something so cute would have such yucky habits? lolololol

Bless your heart, I went through the sameexact thing with Apollo. I finally had to take his bowls away. I hatedit doing it but was worried he'd get sick. I had to switch to a hopperfeeder and water bottle. I hope your Saphy stops doing it. SO yucky andso messy.

You can always switch yourfeeding bowl to those type that hangs to the bars of your bunnie cage(assuming you use a cage), that way, your buns won't ever be able topoo in the food bowl, but is able to reach the food as well!:D

He's such a tiny guy right now, only 7 wks old,so getting a dish that he can't sit in is almost impossible. As far as the kind that hang from the side, I think that if he couldstill reach to eat from it, he could still hop inside. Hedoesn't seem to pee in it when there is food, only if I don't catch ituntil it is empty or he is a bad bunny and digs all the food out of thedish.

Hi Jen,

I use Japanese dishes that come in different sizes in a set.

Also I set the bowl on a stone so Pebbles doesn't step into the water.

Rainbows! :)

I use metal feeders that fasten to the cage.Mybunnies dont poop in them even though they can sit in them.they lovetoo poop in bowls. most rabbits dont figure out if they peein the bowl then they cant eat the food.bluebird
