What's Wrong With Cleo?

It seems my 6 year old French Lop has beenchewing her tail. It looks like most of the hair is gone andI see blood around her tail. The other night after runningaround the basement, I put her back into her cage. She fellover on her side, started chewing the side of her cage, kicking herlegs. There was blood in the cage, presumably from hertail. After this she stoodup and started lickingher dewlap. Then she ate. Very strange.Any ideas?

Are you sure its not bloody stool? I havent heard of anything like this, hopefully someone else will have some info.

But if she seems to be in pain you should get her to the vet asap.Could be mites or an infection or something thats bothering her..

I'm sorry but i don't know what could bewrong,but maybe you could take her to a vet just to make sure nothingserious is wrong with her.

Does she seem like she's in pain?

Self mutilation can have many causes.Best to have a vet check it out. Cleo may need to temporarilywear a collar until the tail heals.
