What works best for litter?

On one side of Sophie's litter pan I place a thin layer off Yesterday's News. Then on top I place a handful of Care Fresh shredded paper. I find that by doing this, everything stays in place fairly well and the absorbency and odour control is great. The other end of the pan is where I put her hay for eating. It's working very well so far

I have used wood pellets for years (6-7 maybe) and have not had a problem with them.
I use them just in the litter box, some of my rabbits don't have a grate, so are directly on top of them litter. You can put hay on top to encourage your rabbit to use the litter box and make it a nicer surface. I only use enough to just cover the bottom of the pan and that will last about 3-4 days before I change it.

I'd think that provided the woods used are safe, eating a little should not hurt a rabbit, but you would not want them to eat a lot of it. Cat litter should not be eaten and other litters could be toxic to rabbits. I don't know why wood pellets need a specific label about not eating them, but people can be stupid.

I really need an advice. I got wood pellets, but I am in doubt to use them, as it says "Not for human or animal consumption"
Nothing about accelerant, so I presume it's not added.
Looks like this is high quality pellets (btw, less than 4 dollars for 40 lbs), but still, would someone please to check out the link? Thank you!!!

I was coming here to ask for opinions on wood pellets, and this is the brand I found online at Farm and Fleet. Thanks for posting! Now I know what to look for. I need something cheaper.

That looks like the right type of pellet. There are so many different brands. The price looks right and I see nothing on the bag indicating it has any accelerant in it.

I use a different brand/type since wood stoves aren't in high use in my area, lol. I think pellets work just great for litter and for absorbing odor. My next favorite was Yesterdays News unscented litter, but the wood pellets are so much cheaper.

Remember, you'll need less in the litter box than you think. I started out using way too much.
