Ok I know there are breeds that are 'mini' but I ran across a breeder that apparently has 'mini' Havanas??? I didn't think that there were minis in that breed at least not recognized...has anyone else heard of a breed like that, that has a 'mini' side to it?

Well...mini havanas are not recognized...so I assume they just have havs that are smaller than normal. Havanas have a max weight of 6 1/2 pounds...so having a mini version is kind of dumb in my opinion. lol

Below are the "mini's" that are recognized by ARBA. They are much smaller than the...original....? I guess that could be a word to describe it. These are their maximum weights being compared.

Rex: 10 1/2 & Mini Rex: 4 1/2

Satin: 11 & Mini Satin: 4 3/4

French Lop: no max/English Lop: no max & Mini Lop: 6 1/2

So there is quite a difference in weightwith these. That's what makes them mini.

A mini is simply smaller than it's counterpart, but not necessarily a Dwarf. Many people are working on smaller versions of big breeds. We sort of already have a "mini" Havana - The Polish:

Wow they do look alike, granted though I don't want to breed or buy a 'smaller' version of these little guys, they've small enough to me :biggrin:But I'm wondering if my young buck Bentley is a 'mini' or some what close, I've had him for just about a month and I swear he hasn't grown much and still looks babish with tiny ears and smallish body, plus he'd be at...9 weeks old or so, he is froma show breeder and has good bloodlines from what I've heard, but darn if he's not the tiniest thing, could it have something to do with being weaned young? (I bought him at '6' weeks but their birth date for him didn't match up so he was most likely around 5 weeks which is too young).

Or is it that he just hasn't really started to grow? (Bella and Hunter sure did when they hit that age)

I don't quite know why you would want something smaller lol (in that breed that is ^.^)
