But it wasn't.

Others were wondering too, but were too shy to ask. We all had that same question at one point.

For you to have rabbits for so many years and still feel your fear byadmitting you didn't know, is to be rewarded. Don't beat yourself up.This just goes to show us all how open you are.

:sunshine:

There are people that are extremely shy that want to ask, but can't find it in them to post so publicly about not knowing.

Lissa has been studying for a long time. She speaks highly of you as aperson, and for your love and devotion to rabbits. I'm sure she cantell you exactly the price and where to get it in your area.

I just got some at Petsmart tonight and gave some to Joey. Itseems sticky and sort of syrupy. Right now Joey hates me

No, many won't be too in love with it, but it's really for their best.

Don't let PB's laughing bother you. :X You didn't do anything funny orwrong. It wasn't a trick or a joke of any kind to give Joey NutriCal.

Joey doesn't like the taste, but it really will help to boost his immune system.

Whether they like it or not, it's really beneficial to them, that's whyLissa will syringe feed it to them. Many rabbits will fight it as kidsfight eating vegetables, but it's good for them.

I'd give Joey another inch tomorrow and see how he does from there. After what he's been through, I believe you've made a very wise choiceand have done well by him.

If you put it on his forepaws, he'll have to lick it off. Make sure yourub it in a bit so that as he flicks his paws, it doesn't go on theceiling and walls.

Do you know if they sell it in Western Canada? I don't think i've ever seen it at PetsMart?

I've been tested for a high reaction to nuts, and my allergist told mesometime over the years i've known about my allergy that it relates toshell fish? Now, I went to him last year and said it only relates ifit's been cooked in it? Hmm.. Going to get tested for shellfish nextyear hopefully.

Don't tpuch anything if your in doubt. Didyouhear about the girl allergic to nuts that died from kissing herboyfriend who had just eaten a peanut butter sandwich!!!.That isscary!Carolyn..I didn't take offence; the more Joey hates methe better he is feeling. Why didn't you put yourself on the poll of"most caring". You would have beenmy vote!!!!:)

I did hear about that story! If I smell peanutbetter it even makes me itchy. Luckily, last time I had a sevrereactionwas when I was 3 years old.

WTH is so funny??? I think this was a very valid post...most of us had to ask at one point.....

Yes, its prolly good Joey didn't like it..even when Corky was deathlyill He'd flick his paw and it'd go flyin all over....some got stuck tothe wall and was there a few days...crap is like super glue!

Only one of my rabbits actually likesNutrical. The others hate it. The get so mad and thump, give me dirtylooks and even the butt. I know how bad it makes you feel for giving itto them but it really is for Joey's own good. I sat and cried when Ihad to give it to Apollo because I knew he despised it, but I also knewI had to do it.

He will forgive you sooner than you think. Once he gets himself cleaned, the poor punkin, perhaps you can offer his favoritetreat. Kinda help soften the blow.

You can even see pictures of Koda and Norman in mythread, looking very upset after a Nutrical treatment.

Tina

ps. Pet_Bunny I think it waspretty mean to be laughing.

I found that the actualbrand Nutri-calis alot thicker in consistancy than the generic that petco/petsmartsells. The petco/petsmart version was definately alot easier tosyringe. ANd for anyone that has to fill a syringe with in.. in youlocal foodstore/pharmacy they make medicine syringes for babies...butwith those syringes, they make like these rubberstoppers that fit into most openings that are the same diameter of thesyringe and it makes filling syringes 10x easier with stuff likeNutriCal.

Been there and done that when MH flicked hispaws right at me. He got it in my mouth, hair and my clean sweatshirt. My hubby thought it was the funniest thing. He gave MH a raisin forflicking it at me. LOl but he had plenty to eat off.

is this the same stuff as critical care?we havenever had anything like this over here in australia, until i read on asite that oxbow is bringing some of their products to australia andcritical care is one of them.

some vets actually have it now,but we can only get it from the vet though:)

Thank you, Varna, for helping us to understand the form in which Science Recovery comes in the UK and how to administer it.

I'll definitely refer to this note in future questions about this product to our UK members.

* * * * * *

It was Raspberry that created that poll, and she didn't put me on there because it's a Given that I'm an

:)

You're right in your thinking. Joey may not like it, but in the end, it's good for him.

It's heartbreaking and upsetting when our little ones get mad at us andhate something we're giving them. If I have to take that attitude fromthem, I better be 100% convinced that it's worth it in the long run.

Believe me, I would never - ever - promote you do something for any ofyour rabbits that they hated unless I believed and saw many otherrabbits benefit by it.

Trust me, when you and Joey are over this, you two will be so muchcloser in heart and soul. He'll trust you and love you more than youever thought possible coming from him.
