What is a good rabbit pellet you can buy in bulk?

I feed my pet rabbit Sherwood, but I'm starting a rescue for the ferals and feeding all of them Sherwood is too expensive.

Feed stores sell rabbit food for pretty cheap. Does anyone have any favourites? I was looking at Hi-Pro but the nutrition seems to be mediocre. I supposed though when pellets are that cheap you won't find anything as high as quality as Sherwood or even Oxbow.

Dumor advanced rabbit food you can buy in pretty big bags. I don’t know to awfully much about the Nutrition, but it’s pretty good. They come in pretty large bags and it isn’t super expensive I don’t think.

With how cheap we are able to get hay I think we have room in our budget to buy Oxbow. Thanks! I will keep this brand in mind though.

I don't know... I'd think long and hard about "helping" the feral rabbit population. As fast as they breed, it can encourage diseases and disease spread (like RHVD) which can then greatly increase the risk of the disease in pet rabbits. In other words, it can ultimately harm the pet rabbit population.

There are other factors to consider as well, like how their presence draws predators into populated areas increasing the risk for humans as well.

I am leading the expansion of Rabbitats (based in British Columbia) to move to Alberta. They have many success stories including removing 1000 rabbits from the University of Victoria campus. They are more sustainable than other rescues because rabbits are adopted out dozens at a time instead of individual buns going into single homes.

I feed Purina Complete. Been feeding Purina for almost 10 years and my rabbits do great on it. They sell it in 50 lb bags.

Honestly ask them what they get in bulk because we have different stuff available in canada vs anywhere else in the world. You could find a lower protein 50lb bag from a feed store and use that because again pellets shouldnt be the bulk of the diet anyway. Horse hay will be!
I used to feed Martin Mills timothy pellets. Canadian company. Cheaper then oxbow. Bigger bags.

Aaah... I see. I thought you were just "feeding the feral rabbits." I didn't realize you'd be removing them from the wild and fixing them. That sounds like quite the undertaking. Kudos to you!

There is a product called Sweet Meadow. I know Chewy.com sells it but you can get it direct from the farmer.. From reviews some people who used it long term said their rabbits didn't have any issues with stasis. By appearance alone it is more green than most pellets but not as green and fresh looking as Sherwood. I ordered it from chewy. I had bought sherwood but it was too $$$ for me to continue. A great organic pellet brand is Modesto Millings, they come in 50# bags for $40!

I never looked to far into this food as I switched to oxbow but when I showed my bunny in 4H I fed her manna pro, so did most if not all of the other fair kids feed their bunnies manna pro. It’s about $20 for a fifty pound bag

I'm not sure what pellet brand you are referring to, but Modesto Millings is 100% organic; a non-soy, non-corn feed.

Modesto Millings is fine. I'm talking about Manna Pro as mentioned in the previous posting.

I used to buy Purina Complete or Manna Pro in bulk. These foods worked well for my elderly rabbits that had a hard time eating, because they are alfalfa based and higher in calories. People on this site told me that alfalfa pellets are not good because they have too much calcium, and rabbits get sludgy poop. That never happened with my rabbits except a rabbit I had with snuffles. He would also get sludgy poop with timothy pellets. The problem was worse with alfalfa pellets, but it was still a problem with timothy pellets. I buy Oxbow Essentials from Chewy.com in bulk. It is cheaper in bulk.
