What do you like about the rabbit breeds that you have?

Holland Lop - Frost, Babbitty - I still don't think this breed has any particular traits that go with them because the two that I have had are completely different in just about every single way. Frost was a princess, there is no doubt that. She was a little less social and prefered to be left alone when she was out roaming around, although she could be extremely sweet when she wanted to be. She was a little more territorial and would box at you on cleaning day (We joked that she got the smell just the way she wanted before we came and messed it up) and overall, she was her own bunny. She wasn't extremely energetic and took everything at her own pace, except for the agility which she all out refused to do. Babbitty, on the other hand, while definitely being his own bunny, is quite the handful. He loves attention and will literally demand it from you at all times, begging at your feet and if he's in his cage, thumping and running in circles to get your attention. He has boundless energy and does amazing on the course, as well as with the public. He is eager to please and does just about anything you ask of him.

Mini Lop X - Willow, Buttercup - Once again, two bunnies that are polar opposites. Now, I can't be too judgemental on Buttercup since we have not had her that long, but she is a rather antisocial and slightly distrustful bun, not that I blame her considering what she's been through. She's slowly coming out of her shell though and I think there is a winning personality down there. Willow is completely different, instead an energetic, very trusting and an attention hogging bunny, which gets him into a bit of a pickle with Babbitty since both of them just love people. Willow has always been good about everything we have ever done with him and is extremely well behaved, we joke that he's more like a dog then a bunny. He's completely leash trained and often goes out for walks with me when the weather is favourable.

Dutch - Star, Ty, Popcorn, Kokomo - A little grab bag of personalities here, although one thing seems to be common with the Dutch and that is that they are very intelligent. They pick up on the rabbit hopping extremely quick and seem to be the best "problem solvers". Star is more on the lazy side, especially since he got nuetered, but it still extremely cuddly, often crawling into your lap and requesting cuddles or treats, although a bit more skittish in a loud setting. Ty is relaxed no matter where he is and takes everything in stride. He's also a clean freak and cannot stand getting dirty in any way, he'll often stop doing the course to clean himself up. Popcorn is my Mom's bunny and tends to be a little more high strung, although this could just be me being biased because he dislikes me :p. He's a great companion to her and while running around at home he isn't as social as the others, in the cage he'll often bounce over for a pet or two (As long as you don't touch his ears, he hates that!). Kokomo can be rather territorial of her cage, grunting and charging, but depending on who it is she doesn't bite (If it's family, she won't. A stranger, she will). Outside of her cage though, she is an extremely sweet girl and would rather spend her time with people then actually running around the house.

Canadian Plush Lop - Wallaby - I'm willing to bet that this is a breed that not many people know about on here, but it is something they are breeding to create a new breed entirely (A lop eared rabbit with fur like a lamb). The breed is being targeted mostly for their friendlypersonality and with Wallaby as an example, I think they are doing pretty well. Wallaby is an easy going guy who likes to socialise but when it's running time, he would rather burn energy then be social. When he tires himself out a little, though, he is very sweet.

Belgian Hare - Peace - Belgians are known for their intelligence and extremely high strung personalities, so we were expecting something a little on the crazy side when taking Peace on. At first, he was what we expected when he had his first major freak out, racing around the cage like a mad bun to the point that we had to cover his cage with a towel to get him to calm down (We still aren't sure what scared him...) but since that, he's been totally great. He's more mellow now and binkies a lot more, and he loves kisses on his forhead. However, he still prefers racing around the living room and although he's not quite as social, he's definitely a great bunny and a completely underrated breed.

Belgian Hare x Tan - Jabberwocky - Although he is a cross, I still think he really took after his tan side here. Jabber is one crazy guy and literally spends every moment on full throttle, blasting around my room and binkying like crazy. He is extremely high energy and rather high maitenence as well as he tends to be more michievous then the rest of my buns, all of which I have never had bad habits with, and I have to be careful that he doesn't eat carpet or chew wires (Although he is improving on this). He tends to be more skittish with loud noises, but seems to forget about them pretty quick before going about his racing business once more. He's a great bun.

Really, I must be pretty biased or just extremely lucky, because of the breeds I have had, there isn't a single one that I wouldn't repeat.

I love Lionhead mixed breeds. I like anything Lionhead mix. A pure Lionhead is too much fur, but I have four Lionhead mixes and the fur distribution is perfect and cute. Their hair on their body is normal length, and then on the head, they have slightly longer hair on their head and face, kind of like a human. :biggrin2:

i also like the size. Not too small like a dwarf sized rabbit.

I don't really care about the temperament of the breed or any breed for that matter. In my opinion, its how the bunny is raised, not necessarily the breed.

Dutch is literally crazy. He's afraid of everything and freaks out at the slightest sound. And he hates being held. But Katmai and Gopher are so mellow and practically fearless, probably because I have tarps around their chainlink enclosure that flap loudly in the wind, and its like no harsh sound bothers or alarms them.

I LOVE big ol' french lops! They are usually gentle (my first was a sweetie, Marley gets bunny PMS, LOL!). I love that they are big and lovable. Both my frenchies had such sweet sides to them and loved people and attention. Neither was easily scared and pretty much loved life.
That's funny because I deliberately left french lops off my list.

We had one a few years ago...and she HATED us and over time...I grew to dislike her too.

But it was my fault. I figured that as much as Tiny loved lionhead girls - he'd rather have a girl his own size.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

They hated each other....and she grew to realize that Tiny was the favored one....and she wasn't (even though we were good to her).

We had someone drive 5 hours one weekend to pick up some lionheads. She fell in love with Beatrice and we offered her to them. THey said no...only to have the husband drive five hours one way the FOLLOWING weekend because his wife just couldn't get Beatrice off her mind.

Beatrice LOVED her new home and everything about it.  She was definitely the queen and she was spoiled rotten.

Here are a few photos of her.

What's funny is I heard somewhere once that french lops were a mix of flemish and e-lops (my favorite breeds).

I think of her sometimes and smile.

If you look at the last picture - you'll see a very very small lionhead baby tucked by her head (he's brown).  He would get out of his cage and go snuggle with her (he was a peanut).  She was devastated when we lost him and she would search for him for the first few days.

Awww she's cute! i saw that in the last picture and nearly died!! That's sooo cute! Marley is a butt. She doesn't like other buns. :p
