I have a Mini Rex/Harlequin!Someone said that when you touch my rabbit it feels like you are, but at the same time you aren't touching something!

Yes. I've heard some say it is like touching air.

Alright. I took a closer look at Velveteen rabbits -- Country Cove Rabbitry and your site.
Now I'm hooked. I usually get rescue rabbits but I think now my next rabbit will be a Velveteen!

Right?! They are such sweet buns too! I love them, and just want all the velveteens! (My websites still a working progress, but Country Cove is great reference!)

Mine are lionhead, mini rex and lop. Mini rex in my experience are very loving and love attention. 2/3 we had were great. The one wasn't may have been if she wasn't a rescue from a park and overall been through stuff. Our lionhead is affectionate but a little skittish, 3 almost 4 months and doesn't like being picked up. Also like the breed because of the manes. Lops are friendly and I love the lop ears

All of ours have been rescues--some were mutts and some pure, from a 1.5 lb Netherland to a20 pound Checkered Giant that made our NZ look tiny. The Mini Rexes were all very smart too.

Does english lop/ velveteen lops have any problems with their ears being so long. I already notice my french lop always have dirty ears on the bottom because she dip them in the water bowl and then get a lot of stuff stuck on them.

This got me looking. If Wikipedia is correct, there are both Miniature and Standard versions of Plush Lops.

The miniature version is made "by combining the previously existing breeds of Holland Lop, Mini Rex, and Mini Lop."

The Standard ones are the same but use a standard size Rex rather than the Mini Rex.

Interestingly, the Plush Rabbit, it seems, will soon become a recognized breed with the BRC but likely will not be recognized by ARBA. ("ARBA's rules states that a new type of rabbit cannot be recognized as a "breed" if it only differs from an existing breed in coat quality. So if a Mini Plush Lop is nearly the same as a Holland Lop, excepting the rex coat, it is not "different" enough to be accepted by ARBA rules.")

The Velveteen Lops are newer and are a mix of the Mini Rex and the English Lop. Of course the English Lop is large at around 11 lbs and has the huge (think Jar Jar Binks) ears.

I wish they would combine the English Lop with a standard Rex to make a nice big Velveteen.

Actually, they stay pretty clean. It's only really after hopping in mud, or in a water puddle that they get dirty. One of my velveteens has long ears, and sometimes she'll step on them when hopping around, poor girl! But for the most part, by buns (especially my girls) like to stay clean.

And @Blue eyes that sounds correct. And yes, the ARBA won't recognize it as a breed, but I know that the two main breeders of the breed don't want it to anyways, its a 'pleasure breed', or just a breed that they love and have developed over many years, and sell for A LOT. The velveteen lops are so much fun! A lot of them I see are over 6 lbs (the breeds weight limit), and I'm sure someone out there is breeding large Velveteen Lops!

I had velveteens, they were super fun. You definitely see a lot that are over the weight limit. If they start to get too big, though, they are more prone to sore hocks. They haven't have the years of breeding that mini rex and rex have had for dense fur (especially on feet) so the weight on the feet of large velveteen lops can wear off the fur (and thats not just on wire, on solid flooring as well)

I am in arizona, but I don't know who still has them. There used to be a fair number, but without seeing them at shows it's hard to keep track. I got mine from a breeder in new mexico (Karen Rossman) but that was years ago and I can't remember if she still breeds them.

This was my boy Bilbo. He didn't have particularly large ears for the breed (back when I had them the minimum earspan was 14", not 15"), but he had good fur for the breed.

Just thinking ahead. Mocha is about 8ish years old (or older, not sure since he's a rescue).

Bilbo was adorable! My quick search didn't turn up anything in AZ. I did see there is one in Vegas though. Their site may not be current though.

My favorite breed even though i have never had it is the mini lop! i think they are super cute and a great size for where i live but as i have 4 rabbits (and they are already expensive enough..) i will have to wait a few years to get one! i also enjoy my beautiful french lop baby Venus. i do love mini rex's aswell and my heart has a softspot for New Zealand rabbits as my first rabbit is one <3 #NZSarepetstoo!
