hi, I'm Shirley, I'm 14 and i own 2 rabbits. Mymum isn't an animal lover but I am. I own two rabbits, after years ofbegging. But neither of my rabbits have ever seen a vet and liveoutdoors. A few days ago i noticed my rabbit Greyears, had a strangelittle lump on her right eye. it is underneath her eye and is about thesize of a red bean now. I am very scared and i don't know what to do.I've tried asking my mum but she says that she's not taking Greyears tothe vet and that if i keep bugging her she'll take Greyears and dumpher at a park. I don't know what to do! Greyears seems fine otherwise, she's still eating, she's pooping like normal and her eyes are brightand shiny not dull, or wet. Just that she has a lump there. I don'tknow what to do. Please help me.

Oh no.:(

Do you have a friend or another family member that could drive you tothe vet? Would you be able to help pay for the treatment?

It's possible that Greyears has an abscess, which is a pocket ofinfection. These can be dangerous especially if they growinto the bone, and they need vet treatment. It could also besome sort of tumor or cyst, but an abscess would be my first guess theyare fairly common.

See if you can get her into a vet, abscess behind the eye is horrible and needs to be treated.

At leastget the bun checked out. Then you can start weighingyour options.

Where are located? Maybe there's an experienced breeder in your area who can help you out.

And isn't it illegal to turn rabbits loose in Australia?

sas

Yes, it's VERY illegal to release rabbits into the wild. They are not natural to Australia's ecosystem.

In someplaces in Australia, altough I can't remember where, it is even illegal to own rabbits.

Finding a breeder who would help you out or a vet who would make house visits sounds like your best bet.
