Weegee sadly passed away yesterday. Weegee was only 5 days old and the only surviving baby from a doe which was in the trapped rabbit holding compound at the infamous University of Victoria.
Weegee was discovered outside the compound fence where he/she crawled leaving the bloody bodies of his siblings inside. Weegee's mother was hopefully one of the rabbits retrieved by the rescuers.
In spite of loving care and a weight gain of 3 grams little Weegee left us and joined his newly born siblings at the bridge.
The conditions inside the compound on campus were horrid with blood everywhere and starving rabbits literally begging for food. No water either. Shame!
