Of course, I had a great time. Was very tempted to buy a CalifornianMini Satin, but I did resist. And in the interest of full disclosure,Pam Nock was not the Flemish Giant judge. I am so proud ofFonzie, but of course I had to just give him a big hug and say goodbye.

Yes, the day went relatively well. Congrats tofonzie! Some of you that were there know I'm having a hard time with myreds lately; but everything else did pretty well. I took oneCalifornian and got BOB. My brother's broken Satins did well also. Itwas a good show overall.... lots of fun.

We had a good time and it was great to hear how well Fonzie did!

I judged the youth Mini Rex specialty show, open and youth New Zealandspecialty show, open Silver Martens, open Satins, open Dutch,Himalayans, Florida Whites, Checkereds and Youth Best 6 Class (picked awhite Satin).

Matthew won Best and Best Opposite of Breed with his Dwarf Hotots andwon some blue ribbons with his Polish as well as best broken and bostopposite black.

Billy, Stephanie and I won the solid senior buck class with our HollandLop "Bequest" at the first show and won Best of Breed with a tortjunior buck in the second show.

I'm exhausted -- it was a long day and my feet are killing me -- but I had a great time seeing everyone!

I have to say, I've never won anything in myentire life! I never thought I'd win a rabbit.LMBO I honestly bought the tickets because they were for agood cause and I really don't even remember that I put a ticket in towin the English Spot, but I guess I did. LOL She'sbeautiful. I actually had someone who wanted to take herimmediately, but I was not sure what to do, so I'm going to researchthe breed and decide. The girl who wanted her lives near mybrother, so if I decide not to keep her, she will go to herina few weeks when I go down to see him.

I had to stop myself from walking away with an EnglishAngora. I decided not in this house because I would have toshave it right away because it's still pretty warm during the day andwe don't have A/C. When I move I may look into one dependingon things at that point.

I really like the fact that the Washington, PAshow opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. ThePledge may be taken away from the schools -- but it cannot be takenaway from the people.

Oh Dan I bet you were happy to see Fonz and didnot want to leave him. He is so handsome and big already. I betMeatHead will catch up to him. Way to go Fonz for winning and Jen wowanother bun. Well I kinda know you abit if you get attatched to thispretty bun you won't let go. I think there is a reason why you won thebun. I will post it in your homethread.

can someone explain about having to give up rabbits at shows? How/Why?

You may have been confused about Jen's (cirrustwi) post. Whathappen was after she won the English Spot, some young girl from afamily of breeders wanted to buy it from her. However the price sheoffered Jen was way too low. Or was it my post? I gave Fonzie back tohis breeder a couple of months ago after I determing that a Flemish wasjust too large of a rabbit for my present living situation. Hope thathelps.

well i was wondering about Fonzie, and i have read in some other posts about rabbits entered, being given up.

thanks Mambo!

Often times breeders with web sites will arrangeto meet potential buyers at show. You should really try to make theElmira show. A decent sized show is truly a rabbit fanciers heaven. Youwill be guaranteed to rabbits for sale of just about any breed you canimagine. And the great thing about buying a rabbit at a show is thatyou know whom you are buying from(as opposed to a pet store) and youusually get a pedigree with your purchase. The prices are usually veryreasonable too at shows. I almost picked up another mini satinyesterday for just 25 dollars.
