Vet visit cause bond problem

I had to take my rabbit to the vet for an eye issue. I knew I should have taken her bonded mate with me but he is such a drama queen I decided to leave him at home. She was only separated from him for 45 minutes but when I returned her to their room he started chasing her and acting aggressively. I have them separated now ( xpen down the middle of the room). Any suggestions how to reintroduce them?

She probably smells different try rubbing their scents on each other with a towel

Yes^ It isn't the time separated that causes the problem, it is the changes in scent from going to a new environment.

Remember rabbits have incredible nose power (my rabbits can smell me open a banana in a different room it seems, haha). Scent is a big part of how they make judgments on safety and recognize stimuli.

For reintroductions if things are not simmered down at this point, then I would introduce them in a more neutral space and incorporate some scent swapping of objects and towels.
