Hello all,
I give my Bunny veggies about twice or three times a week. I give her about 4 slices of cucumber, about a quarter of a leaf of cabbage, and then about 5 stalks of Broccoli (like when you cut it into flowerets), without the heads, like in the picture below.

I am wondering if this is an alright amount of veggies to give her.
I have always given my bunny veggies about 2 or 3 times a week, her main diet is unlimited hay, a lot of grass, and a very small handful of pellets.
I always wonder what amount of veggies is too much.

I was thinking the veggie amount I give her is good, as I don't give veggies every day. I just like to make sure I keep things interesting and different for her, so I give her a treat of veggies twice a week because she absolutely loves veggies.
I have never seen her have side effects from the veggies. Her poos are always normal, and consistent.

I would just like a bit of knowledge from someone else about what too many veggies might be, or if I am giving a good amount.
I just know there are a lot of you here with heaps of knowledge. I have looked after bunnies for a few years now, but I always like to make sure I am caring for them properly and well. I wouldn't want any of my cute buns to get tummy problems from the veggies. So far none have.

Thankyou all.

If she has healthy looking fecal balls, no mushy cecals, no signs of digestive upset, and overall good health, then it sounds like what you're feeding is a good diet for your bun.

If a rabbit was getting too many of any particular veg, you would likely see signs of mushy poop or digestive upset, particularly with high starch veg, or there could be bladder sludge issues with high calcium veg. Dental issues might be a possibility if a rabbit was getting a lot of watery veg and not enough fiber and roughage from other foods like hay and grass.

There are a variety of recommendations out there. But every rabbit is different, and you need to find the right balance of protein, fiber, and nutrients, and what works best for your bun to maintain good health and a healthy weight.
