My other rabbit was in a mood and bit this rabbit. He has a split eyelid and seems to be in pain. I don't know what to do because none of my rabbits got hurt before and I've had them for 5 years. I don't want anything bad to happen to him because we've bonded so much[/QUOTE]

I am very sorry to hear about your bunny.I would try and get an appointment with your vet right away and have it looked at as the eye could be damaged and an infection could set in.

In the meantime clean the area with warm water and a soft cloth and you could after that try a warm tea bag to sooth it but he should be seen by a vet asap.

Best of luck:anotherbun

Is there an emergency vet near you that you could take him to right now? Do you have any Metacam or other pet pain medication that you could give him?

I'm sorry to hear about your bunny fight. This reminds me of the first day I got Brooke and Lady and did not know they were not bonded. Lady bit Brooke a half a inch above where your bun was bit. I did not take Brooke to the vet and used antiseptic cleaner (foaming for babies) and her's healed on it's own and is fine now. But yours is a tiny bit lower then where Brooke was bit and is a hell of a lot more serious. I would call an emergency vet asap and make certain they have a rabbit savvy vet or an 'exotic' on hand that deals with or has dealt with bunnies. Please keep us posted and I hope all goes well with this..

I just don't understand why people just don't call the vet! If your rabbit is bleeding, limping, screaming.. Call your vet! You'd call a DR if you or a family member was injured!

If the wound is more than 4 hours old there's not much that can be done short of surgery, which is always shockingly expensive. I'd just make sure it's clean and watch for infection. Some of our rescues came to us missing bits of the ears and I'm sure they didn't even get any care whatsoever, but were fine once we had them.
