I am wanting to switch rabbit feeds. I bought a 5lb bag of Zupreem thinking it was the cheepest timothy based feed out there of quality. Now that I look at prices online it seems more expensive than the Oxbow. Does anybody have a preference out of the two? Is there a place that I can get a small amount of the Oxbow to try before I buy (without paying the pet store prices)? Anybody have rabbits that do not like it? Any other advice is welcome :)

I am thinking about getting it from BinkyBunny. I was also going to get a mini bale of early oat hay (~$8 for over 40oz). Also what seems to be the best deal for a 10lb bag of Oxbow counting shipping?

I have been feeding Oxbow to my bunnies for about 5 years now. While some have not liked it at first, they all will eat it.
I do know that there are some rabbits who don't like it or have trouble switching. These rabbits have typically been on an alfalfa based pellet.

I can't help with the prices. I pay about $13.50 for a 10 pound bag and that is the cheapest around here. I go through a bag about every 3 weeks with 6 rabbits eating it. Other places around here charge between $15 and $20 for 10 pounds.

They have never had a timothy pellet ever in their lives. They were show bunnies until they got spayed. Do you think that should order a 10lb bag to start with and hope that they get used to it? From what I am finding it is just a little bit cheeper to buy a 5lb bag than a 10lb bag.

It is typically cheaper per pound to buy the 10 pound bag. But if you just want to try, then a 5 pound might be better to start off with.

How well the transition depends on the rabbit. Some like the taste and will eat it easily while others don't like it as much. You should give it a few weeks so they get used to it rather than giving u after a few days.
