When I got my first indoor bunny I wasn't used to them being in the house. The first while with my new little darling, he....
1. chewed my lamp cord, laptop power cord, tv cord, tv cable, and dvd player cord.
2. he humped everything in sight b/c he wasn't fixed, so humped his stuffed giraffe in his cat tent in front of company.
3. SCREAMED from the next room, scaring me to death. Found him lying on his back in ecstasy next to the above-mentioned giraffe.
4. Was staying with a friend who had 2 dogs. After about a week, they'd sniffed each other and seemed to be fine together, dogs ignored him. We went out for a couple of hrs and I left him in his cage in the living room with the dogs. We came home to the cage on the floor, contents spilled all over, bottom and top on opposite sides of the room, dogs barking. My friend was at the door, saying "Oh NO!" I came up behind her, seeing the mess, and she said, "Hector?" Out from behind a rocker/recliner he hops and looks up at us, like "Yeah, did you call?" We were so glad he was ok.
5. At same friends, Hector was spending some time out in the previously-used-as-a-chicken-coop with attached pen with 9 ft tall fencing. The shed had about 6 bales of fresh hay in it (aka allyoucaneatbuffetforbuns). Friends hubby didn't pay much attention to him, being a manly man. One day I got a sudden excruciating migraine and was throwing up as it began to pour rain and thunder & lightening. Manly man comes home from work and I say, "Can you please go out and get Hector?" So he runs outside and is back in 2 minutes. He comes in the door soaking wet, carrying Hector against his body, being so careful and delicate with him. Hecky just brought that out in people.
I'm adding a pic of my Hector. My first house rabbit. He helped me through the most difficult time of my life when I felt completely alone. I only wish we could have had more time together, but I'm so grateful for the time we did have. Never forgotten, forever missed. RIP Hecky-doodles Pic of my boy melting into my lap for pets and cuddles <3
