Hello guys
Haru has been sick for a few days now and she’s been to the vet already.
I’ve never heard her grind her teeth so I can’t differentiate between it and purring, but I’ve been hearing chewing noises while she isn’t eating and I was wondering if that’s it? I thought that rabbits grind their teeth while hunched and in an unbareable pain but I’ve been hearing this noise even while she’s grooming herself, or hopping around.
Also what about flopping and grooming? Would they do it if they were very sick? I’m looking for any signs of improvement 😭

You have to take into account a rabbits body language and other signs. A rabbit refusing to eat, sitting hunched, maybe hiding in a corner or over the water bowl, lethargic, eyes squinting, and grinding teeth, is a rabbit in pain. A rabbit eating, grooming, acting relatively normal, and quietly tooth grinding, is likely doing it as a normal contented behavior. I've had rabbits napping that will tooth chatter, which is completely normal.

If you aren't sure or think there's a problem, you need to discuss this with your vet.

I know that she’s not okay, she’s eating very little, and most of the time hunched in a corner and grinding. BUT does her grooming herself, laying down or flopping mean that she’s feeling a little bit better or does super sick rabbits do these things as well?

If you know in your gut that she isn't OK,listen to your instincts please.I've made the mistake of waiting in the past and lived to regret it.Check her abdomen while holdingnher onnyour lap.If you gemtly feel it or peress it,does she wince and go tense? Does she feel bloated, like a balloon inflated? Is she passing droppings and nif so what are they like? Are her eyes closed or screwed up?these are all questiuons that need answering, and the soonerbshe's treated andnchecked the better.they give you very little time to react, believe me. Don't delay, take some actuion or you may regret it.

Very good to know this as a first time rabbit owners. Thankyou

is her tummy making a lot of gurgling sounds. I know this is a good way to know if ur rabbit's tummy is upset.

My Bun's tummy got upset at the start of last week, and I could hear her tummy gurgling so much, and her droppings were all mushy, runnyish, and smelly. she also cut down on her eating. This was my fault as I was sick for a few days and gave her too many veggies I think for one of those days, as it was the easiest thing to give her (terrible me) and not enough grass. I was super worried, so I quickly acted
I got her grass and grass and more grass, and after a day she was back to normal poop and eating, so I guessed it was a lack of roughage, so that was my fault.

But I'm just suggesting to listen out for constant gurgling sounds from your Bun's tummy
