Taking a rabbit's temperature

I did find an article from the http://www.rabbit.org/journal<WBR>/2-4/emergency-preparedness<WBR>.html]hrs website[/url] that explained briefly how to do it:

"All pet owners should have a baby thermometer. Apply some lubricant to the thermometer, insert it gently into the rectum, and hold it there for about 1 minute. Normal rabbit temperature is about 101o F to 103o F."

I would be worried about doing it myself though for the first time. Again, might want a vet to show you the best method..dont want to hurt anything :)
 
i have done it before and it wasn&#39;t to hard.

i just set a plate of greens in front of the rabbit and he didn&#39;t even care what i was doing (this was back when i bred). . .

just remember that you don&#39;t have to stick it to far in there:shock:
